Apparently, not the first time it's been done:

But with a president who wants to remove himself from NATO...

The Results Are In: On average, for the past 90 years, 1/3 of the world has been banned
by ILoveTTATT2 inso using some amazing features of excel and the starting data here, i managed to get the average, the maximum, and the minimum percentage of the inhabited landmass of the earth where jehovah's witnesses have been either active (reported) or "not banned".the average is 66.10%!!
that means that for 90 years, ever since there is data, 1/3 of the world's area has not been preached in or been fully able to preach in!the minimum occurred in 1943, when only 26.77% of the world's inhabited area made a full yearly report and/or wasn't banned.the maximum occurred in 1991 because the yearbook said that the ussr was included.
the maximum was 82.47%.

Well... doing the "area" analysis is easy since area of a country doesn't really change much. I want to do "% of the world population", which would be much more interesting. Possibly similar results, though.

So using some amazing features of Excel and the starting data HERE, I managed to get the average, the maximum, and the minimum percentage of the inhabited landmass of the Earth where Jehovah's Witnesses have been either active (reported) or "not banned".
The average is 66.10%!! That means that for 90 years, ever since there is data, 1/3 of the world's area has NOT been preached in or been fully able to preach in!
The MINIMUM occurred in 1943, when only 26.77% of the world's inhabited area made a full yearly report and/or wasn't banned.
The MAXIMUM occurred in 1991 because the yearbook said that the USSR was included. The maximum was 82.47%. So even in their best year ever, that left 17.53% of the world where the JW's were banned.
For all intents and purposes, they have NOT "preached to all nations". -

Video Showing Where in the World Jehovah's Witnesses Have been Active, 1926-2016
by ILoveTTATT2 inafter many, many days of learning how to write macros in excel and cleaning up a lot of data, i finally have the desired result: a timeline of where jehovah's witnesses have been active since 1926.there are some notes:1) "korea" was assumed to be both north and south korea up until 1950.
(i chose 1950 because that is the same year russia and other communist countries went "banned").2) morocco and western sahara are considered as one.3) in the years previous to 1947, i had to read the yearbook reports and make an educated guess as to whether i should include in the report or not.
my requirements were: not banned, report was for an entire year if there was more than one witness in the land, reports were official and not second hand.

It appears like this map reflects where the JWs were legally able to have a presence, rather than where they were actually "active".
That is correct. I should change the video title to reflect that. Essentially it includes places where there was a full report for the year and places where the witnesses had legal presence. -

I hope you will share the excel once you're done as well, this could be the basis for many such analyses.
Most definitely! The Excel sheet for country names is already up! Find it HERE. -

Amazing new graph - publisher increase compared to country population increase rates
by jwfacts inworld population growth rate is 1.13%, whilst jehovah's witness average publishers grew by 1.8%.
watchtower growth is outpacing population growth, though at a dismal rate considering the 2 billion hours of preaching required for an increase of just 115,194. this is an aggregate number, and most growth is from developing nations in africa and south america.
what i was really interested in finding is how watchtower growth compares to the population growth in different countries.

Pretty much any way you slice it, the JW's have problems!! hahaha great job!

This disqualified many places, so that in 1943 there were very, very few places in the world where Jehovah's Witnesses freely preached.
That being said:
Here's the video:

At first it loops through the entire years very quickly, then gives you 2 seconds per year to examine.Enjoy!
When I achieve getting all of the YB data into Excel, there will be other maps like these! -

Every Country and Land... Except Oman
by ILoveTTATT2 inso the other day someone asked me what use was it to make the list of countries in which there have been reports.... well... to know that, as far as i can tell, there has never been preaching done in oman.. it has never appeared in any report, and the reports go back to 1926!.
all other countries and lands have appeared, but not oman.. so there... first useful fact about the watchtower that we can get from 90 years of data..

Has Afghanistan ever been blessed with the presence of JWs?
Yes, for many years. From 1958 to 1980, in fact. -

The more islands you list separately the more you can crow about how many "lands" you preach in.
Very true also. Lots of the current places they list are actually different islands in the same entity (For example, they divide the Federated States of Micronesia into three or four).
