  i did a study where i searched in the individual yearly pdf's of the golden age / consolation / awake, or i searched in the 2015 watchtower library, for the following terms:aluminum.

  transfusion.

  i did not discriminate between positive and negative mentions of the terms.. for "aluminum" i actually searched for "alumi" and adobe would search for words that started with that.for "vaccines" i actually searched for "vacc".

  Interesting results from your word search project - but context is also important.
  I would imagine that in the 1930s, even the non-religious press was producing a lot of literature on aluminium and vaccines, especially given that the latter was at the cutting edge of medical interventions at the time.

  That view is completely wrong. Vaccines had been a demonstrated technology for over a century by 1930 in the case of smallpox, and over 50 years in the case of diphteria. In fact, the very first Nobel Prize in Physiology in 1901 was awarded to those who discovered a method for producing diphteria serum!

  The fact is, going against aluminum or vaccines in the 1930's was quackery. They were fools and made fools of themselves for decades.

  For "Aluminum" I actually searched for "Alumi" and Adobe would search for words that started with that.
  For "Vaccines" I actually searched for "vacc". I searched for "serum" for the serum search, but in the years 1940 and up I had to be careful that they were talking about vaccines and not blood transfusions when the term "serum" was used.
  For "transfusions" I actually searched for "transfu".
  For "transplants" I actually searched for "transpl" and made sure that organ transplants were being discussed and not plant transplantation.
  
  Some interesting facts:
  
  In 1934, the word "aluminum" was mentioned a whopping 436 times, this is 100 times more the average mention in the years 1970-2015.
  
  In 1921, the word "vaccine" was mentioned MORE than the word "Jehovah"... 149 vs 132 times.

  according to news sources in luanda, angola (read it here, although it's in portuguese language), a regional convention of the jw's taking place this weekend at the outskirts of capital luanda was targeted yesterday, friday, by what may be described as a 'terrorist attack'.. more than 400 attendees (mostly female) passed out in rapid succession in the vicinity of a toilet at the convention place.

  reportedly, toxic gas devices were planted there by 3 young members of unita, the main political party that opposed mpla, the dominant regime party in angola since its independence in 1975.

  43 people were rushed to the hospital and a few remain there, under medical surveillance.

  I honestly highly doubt this will ever hit a "known" news source such as AP or Reuters. Either too small of an event to be newsworthy (no one died)... or it's being hushed by someone in Angola... it would turn too political too quickly... an attack perpetrated by the opposition because they lost?

  back in 1947, the republican party was the "liberal" party.. i was reading an awake from 1947 and found out that jw's were not really neutral at all!

  they clearly supported american democracy and rejected fascism and communism!their twist was that, of course, the catholic church and the protestants were in bed with the nazis, and if just the german people were allowed to be jehovah's witnesses, they would also embrace freedom and reject nazism.i am not making this up.. apparently the german people could not think right in 1947... that's why they did not want american freedom and democracy... where jw's would be free to preach!what?.

  Vidiot, I've always wondered about that. What if... JW's could vote? What party would they vote for?
  
  I guess it would depend. In 1947, clearly they would have voted Republican (the equivalent of modern Democrats).
  
  Now? Probably Republican (modern), as you say. It seems like most exJW's go liberal in many things...

  Republicans liberals??? You are kidding me. They proudly call themselves conservative. Conservatism and liberalism are by definition in different sides of the philosophical and political aisle. They, Republicans, just want to appropriate beautiful words, not unlike the guys at the extreme left. The people who best represent liberalism sit somewhere in the middle, moderates. Not surprising, they are willing to listen to both sides.

  Republicans, before the 1960's were the "liberals" and Democrats were the "conservatives". They made the historical switch in policies around that time. So, since this is 1947 we're talking about, then yes, I would say JW's would have voted Republican, which would have been Democrats today.

  these are the worldwide percentages of jehovah´s witnesses and where they live.

  a whopping 50% live in the americas, and a whopping 35% live in the us, or mexico, or brazil.

  (the percentages shown on the right pie graph are of the worldwide total, so if it says 15% for the us it means that 15% of all jw´s worldwide live in the us, not 15% of the ones that live in the americas).what do you think of this graph?.
