I hope you will share the excel once you're done as well, this could be the basis for many such analyses. Most definitely! The Excel sheet for country names is already up! Find it HERE.

Video Showing Where in the World Jehovah's Witnesses Have been Active, 1926-2016
by ILoveTTATT2 inafter many, many days of learning how to write macros in excel and cleaning up a lot of data, i finally have the desired result: a timeline of where jehovah's witnesses have been active since 1926.there are some notes:1) "korea" was assumed to be both north and south korea up until 1950.
(i chose 1950 because that is the same year russia and other communist countries went "banned").2) morocco and western sahara are considered as one.3) in the years previous to 1947, i had to read the yearbook reports and make an educated guess as to whether i should include in the report or not.
my requirements were: not banned, report was for an entire year if there was more than one witness in the land, reports were official and not second hand.

Amazing new graph - publisher increase compared to country population increase rates
by jwfacts inworld population growth rate is 1.13%, whilst jehovah's witness average publishers grew by 1.8%.
watchtower growth is outpacing population growth, though at a dismal rate considering the 2 billion hours of preaching required for an increase of just 115,194. this is an aggregate number, and most growth is from developing nations in africa and south america.
what i was really interested in finding is how watchtower growth compares to the population growth in different countries.

This disqualified many places, so that in 1943 there were very, very few places in the world where Jehovah's Witnesses freely preached.
That being said:
Here's the video:

At first it loops through the entire years very quickly, then gives you 2 seconds per year to examine.Enjoy!
When I achieve getting all of the YB data into Excel, there will be other maps like these! -

Every Country and Land... Except Oman
by ILoveTTATT2 inso the other day someone asked me what use was it to make the list of countries in which there have been reports.... well... to know that, as far as i can tell, there has never been preaching done in oman.. it has never appeared in any report, and the reports go back to 1926!.
all other countries and lands have appeared, but not oman.. so there... first useful fact about the watchtower that we can get from 90 years of data..

Has Afghanistan ever been blessed with the presence of JWs?
Yes, for many years. From 1958 to 1980, in fact. -

The more islands you list separately the more you can crow about how many "lands" you preach in.
Very true also. Lots of the current places they list are actually different islands in the same entity (For example, they divide the Federated States of Micronesia into three or four). -

Yeah the politics of JW "lands" is an interesting study in itself. Categorising Northern Ireland as Ireland, and putting Taiwan under the Japan column it looks like in the photo above. Palestine listed sometimes too, separating Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico, then adding them to US, but not Puerto Rico. Falklands as a separate land. In trying to be "neutral" they sometimes make the most surprising political choices.
Completely true SBF. Have you looked at the data? The link is HERE.In the link you can see the "lands" as listed on the YB, then alphabetically, then you can see what years they were actually in there in the "Alpha+ Years active".

Assuming that pre 1959, "Korea" meant both North and South, then yes, even North Korea at one point was "unbanned".
Only Oman has never been "unbanned" and reported on a yearbook. Every other country in the "30 other lands", at one point was "unbanned" and reported.I now have the capability of (relatively quickly) doing world maps of the countries that reported each year. I plan to make a time-lapse of these countries from 1926 to now.

Oman is probably one of the "Thirty other lands". I understand there are two congregations in Oman, made up entirely of expats. One English, and one in one of the Indian languages (I can't remember which). They don't dare evangelise to locals.
I have a friend, an XJW, who works in Oman. There are JWs there and they are active among the expat community.

It has NEVER appeared in any report, and the reports go back to 1926!
All other countries and lands have appeared, but not Oman.
So there... first useful fact about the Watchtower that we can get from 90 years of data.
