Thank you for the response. I guess in this forum I am not shocking anyone with the info. In other locations, and certainly in the Hispanic exJW community, yes... I'd say about 80% of the community believes he was a Freemason.

No one? It took me a very long time to make this article. Hopefully you find interesting that I found a magazine that explains the real reason why the Masonic center is near the Rosemont United Cemetery.

A very detailed article of why Charles Taze Russell was NOT a Freemason. Includes comments from WT historians such as B.W. Schulz and R.M. de Vienne, Barbara Anderson, James Penton, and The One We Don't Mention On JWN. = P
It's in Spanish for now, because I had written the majority of it in Spanish previously, but it should be relatively easy to put it in English.
If you understand Spanish, or don't mind using Google Translate, here it is:

Please, let's not scare away Mrs. Vienne from the board by getting her involved in controversies. I would love her to stay and chip in on historical WT posts, surely her input would be invaluable!
Thank you for your work, and thank Bruce for me too!

Mrs. Vienne,
I managed to see a preview of your book, and you say on page 340 that Charles Taze Russell's Uncle was a Mason.
However, Barbara Anderson states that Charles Tays Russell wasn't.
Were you referring to Charles Tays or another uncle of Russell???
Here is what Barbara says:
I requested historical information from the ANCIENT ACCEPTED SCOTTISH RITE OF FREEMASONRY, VALLEY OF PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA, asking if Charles Taze Russell, his father, Joseph Lytel Russell, and his uncle, Charles Tays Russell, were Pennsylvania Freemasons.
...This is the answer I received in a letter:
“AFTER A SEARCH OF OUR RECORDS, WE DETERMINED THAT THE THREE RUSSELLS WERE NOT MEMBERS OF OUR ORGANIZATION.”
...
I never checked back with Ms. Waldman to see whether the other two Russell’s were Pennsylvania Freemasons, but there has never been any evidence they were, so I didn’t bother.
