  for many, religion is the root of terrorism and war.

  since the beggining of creation or evolution, mankind is at war not only for religious reasons, but economical ones too.

  oil is a good example.

  All those things would hurt religion but they have nothing to do with the UN. Tax exempt status and all those others are granted by the country in which the religion resides not the UN... The reality is far from being the "wild beast" The UN is a powerless corrupt board of wankers... They can't do ANYTHING nobody cares what they ban or say or do they are pathetic THEY SHOULD BE BANNED! Followed closely by about 85% of United States CEO's

  I think religion is destroying itself... It's just so silly to be afraid of "spirit creatures" and concepts of things like god and the devil are becoming more and more out of date! I won't even comment on the reasoning that advocates the worship of a carpender thats been dead for 2000 years...

  i got an interesting reply from an elder friend when i admitted that i had issues with the wts.

  i had listed the failed predictions, the changing doctrines and the mistakes made by the wts.. he came back with the examples of the israelites in the wilderness and under the various kings.

  the nation of israel was still god's people despite their hardheadedness and sins.

  Questions No JW has answered

  many times i have asked my jw relatives questions that they've been unable to answer with anything other than, "good question, i'll get back to you on that.

  " for some reason, they never actually do get back to me on them.

  so, now here's the opportunity for the jehovah's witnesses and their supporters on this forum to either answer some of these questions or concede that they have no answer.

  If, when we die, nothing about us (e.g., spirit or soul) literally exists anymore, what exactly will be resurrected? Just a memory of us? That's not resurrection; that's re-creation: Someone who will think he or she is us.

  I asked a Hindu about that one time I asked him when you die and are resurrected does any part of your memory remain? Do you remember being you? So arent' YOU dead? He didn't care for that line of reasoning!

  Now as to the other things it's simple it's inconsistancy! There are no real scriptures that support any of this nonsense so they make some asine statement then when/if too many people start questioning they either change a) the belief or b) the reason for the belief! Ie- smoking is spiritism, wait smoking is bad for your health... no wait it's big business... no wait it's spirtism again! I really think thats one of the things that keeps witnesses in. Its the constantly changing belief system that make them think they are always learning. The reality is that they are simply relearning a changed belief! Then in 5 years they change it back and they relearn a different truth so they feel like they are growing all the time. The reality is they take two steps turn around then two steps in the oppisite direction then turn around and do it again it's a never ending loop but they FEEL brilliant!

  WHAT IMPACT WOULD A UFO LANDING HAVE ON RELIGION?

  i was watching independence day last week, and i got to thinking "what would happen if a ufo (or several for that matter), did land on earth?

  what effect would this event have on religions that teach that god has only created life on planet earth?

  specifically, how do you think the governing body would attempt to explain this to 6,000,000 people that they've told in no uncertain terms, that there is no other intelligent life out there.

  It would depend on many factors not the least of which what they SAID when they got out of the spaceship! I'm actually writing a novel about this very topic! Don't talk it to death or I'll never get on Oprah! LOL
