My mother was DF'd in 1973 and still went to meetings for almost 20 years. When that 'visiting' the df'd arraingement came into effect shortly after I resigned as an elder.........they NEVER went to visit her at all even though I still picked her up for the meetings.

I just wish she was still alive today so me and my daughter could show and tell her all the lies.

My daughter tells me that "grandma" and her did a lot of talking and grandma really didn't care about the "troof" but faked it for me. DAMN.......I wish I would have left sooner.

Hi Mrs Kwin,

It was a mind boggling thoutht process when I found out I was had too! Spent over 30 years as a JW and an elder for a few years. Take it slow and use 2 Timothy chap. 3 as a guide. Also, be like the Beroeans and examine for yourself.

Who are these people?

as i was walking home today (about 7pm) i passed in front of madison square garden.

there, a little boy, about 7-8 years old, hands me some literature.

the literature is eerily similar to a watchtower, but i knew that the people handing them out were not jws.

The "Worldwide Church of God" has split. There are two factions now! The "Philadelphia Church of God" is now the side that agrees with the original "crap" of the founder....Howard Armstrong. His son.......Garner Ted Armstrong has been 'exposed' a couple of times and reinvents his own ministry in Texas. The folks of both factions want nothing to do with Ted, but as P.T. Barnham said........."there is a sucker born every minute".......so Ted continues to bring in $uckers!

Witnesses NOW For Jesus Acts 1:8 Convention

someone sent me an itinerary of the convention being held oct. 22-24, 2004 at the blue mountain christian retreat, rd #2, new ringgold, pa. this is their 26th convention.

if i didn't live so far away i probably would attend.

there is no registration fee and we are told "everyone is welcome.

I had all intentions of being at this convention, even to the point of having reservations. But circumstances of life happened and I had to cancel. This was disapointing to me but what can I say? I just hope that those who are there are having a good experience.

now heroux has done a year in prison, followed by home confinement for two years on an electronic bracelet, probation for two years and parole for life.

it was later discovered after heroux was newly released from prison that an elder in his new congregation was in the process of arranging for heroux to conduct a bible study with a woman and her two small children.

P.S.

I am now visiting my daughter in Fort Myers, Florida and she just reminded me of some things I did as an elder.

Whenever I would "elder out" and try to do the "right thing", my late wife who was born and raised a jw would tell my daughter........"your father is being an a**hole again!" And you know what? She was right. I only realized that years after the fact. Oh........what one is willing to compromise for the approval of the 'powers that be"!

My daughter knows I would never argue with her as to how I was THEN! But at least...........now........she loves me unconditionally. That is a great reward.

Yes they are Else............

I know because I used to be one! And even though something like this would have made me very upset.......being an elder and wanting to do what I thought was right according to the "standards" I was indoctrinated in, I would have more than likely done the same thing.

But at least now..........I have "sense" and "human decency" and no longer follow a mentally, emotionally and spiritually diseased organisation. I thank God for that! I only hope that any mistakes I made as a JW will not be held against me by humans. I know that God forgives me, but it still hurts when I think about some of the jc's I was on and the decissions that were made.

i also believe that there is learning to be found from a variety of sources.

You are very qualified to post the things you do. You are an asset to this board because you are living it every day.....being married to one! If you didn't tell anyone that you were not a JW.....they would never know. In fact....you know more about what it is to be a JW than some current dubs know! Please keep doing what you are doing.

i just was in touch with her.

she thanks you all for the many cards & letters, she has been moved to the london hospital...she said she has kept all the enverlopes with the addresses on & when she feels better will answer your kindnesses,.

she explained they have changed her anti-depressants-& she is not so shaky---- she realizes it is up to her now-to stop thinking of being the chief executer of herself..... i want to thank you all too.

Unwritten prophecies of JWs,

all of us could document the written false prophecies of the wtower, 1799, 1874, 1914 -15-18-19-1935-75.by 2000....etc but how about the unwritten ones?

can you document any?.
