  Years REALLY DO FLY BY!

  i just realized that i was 39 years old when i joined this discussion board.

  i remember the morning conversations that always brought me laughter, and i think there were only a but about 9 or 10 regulars back then!

  i will now turn 57 years old in a few months.

  Nice to see you here again! Time flies too quickly! Can't believe I'm going to be 71 years old in a month. I joined this forum in 2004 when I was 57 years old. It would be nice to see other ones from the early days start visiting here again.

  please tell me how not to think too much and get a good night sleep.

  when i was a jw i didn't think too much because i knew everything, but now my mind works overtime.

  how in the hell can i shut it down and stop the anxiety???

  Like you James, I too am 70 years old and wake up at 4:30 AM. My body can be tired but my mind doesn't want to turn off sometimes. When I was in my early 60's, a friend who was already 70 told me that this was happening to him also. I guess it comes with aging and subconsciously thinking there aren't many years left. Some nights I sleep very good though!

  what is the sales technique here?

  jw's will never knock on your door and say, "hi, we are here to convert you".

  speaking to a reporter recently a jw media rep at hq said " our main purpose going door to door is not to convert but to share bible truths with people".

  does anyone know the sales techniques involved here?

  i know of her father that committed suicide however i wasn't in the congregation at the time.

  i know of people she spoke about here 15 years ago or so.

  I remember a lot of their posts when I joined here in 2004. Always enjoyed hearing what they had to say. Sadly, almost all the early "pioneers" of this forum in the early days are no longer posting. I too wonder about a lot of them.

  The skeptic in me asks...........where the hell are you coming from? Were you ever a JW? If you were, you would know the answer to your own question. JW's are not allowed to celebrate anything other than their own memorial.

  Poisonous chicken

  chicken and veg.

  as she was cooking the chicken it gave off the most vile smell.

  omg my head exploded!in this months broadcast - splian goes off on how much care the wt in making sure its facts are correct, and how they make sure their quotes are not taking from people who have a bad reputation or have an agenda.

  and that the make sure its always in context!.

  Maybe they have had to settle a few law suits with their past misquoting adventures. I don't remember the particular, but a few years , it was discussed here how one prominent scientist made it public about being misquoted in a JW publication. It might have been Isaac Azimov..

  the wayans were raised as jw's but i don't think any of them stated.. strange to see him here.

  this is the same man who defended bill cosby from all the sex abuse allegations..

  Any protests against the WT is a waste of time. Nothing anyone does will matter at all. Been there....done that. Get on with your life and be happy.
