OCT 2019 Watchtower - Survival dependant on loyalty to JW Leaders
by Listener inthere is so much wrong with the newly released october, 2019 but that's not unusual.
what stands out is there statement claiming that survival through armageddon depends on loyalty to those 'taking the lead'.
since they claim there will be a point during the gt that they (the gb) won't be physically around, jws must still be loyal to jw leaders.. whats interesting in this article is that they make it clear that they, the governing body are going to take part, from heaven, in the war of armageddon.

Quick question to ALL members
by Tenacious inas a witness, when you thought about jesus christ, what was the first thing that came to your mind?.

I always wondered why we (JW's) put Jesus on the sideline while all other Christian religions put him at the forefront. I think that always ate at me and this is what created my initial doubts that this religion was flawed.

Thanks everyone for your input. I know we all have our preferences. My daughter is the only family I have in this world and she is going to make a hell of a lot more money in Minnesota with her degree than what she is getting in Florida. And her and my best friends moved back to Minnesota 5 years ago for the same reason. I'm just happy that my daughter still wants her grumpy old man around . We both escaped the JW cult at about the same time after my wife/her mother died. I was done with the religion and was afraid to tell because I thought I would lose her forever. Lo and behold.....I didn't know......she was also done with it and was afraid to tell me for the same reason. We were at the time in two different worlds so to speak until I met her for dinner one day after she was done with work. I was very distraught that day and I just had to tell her my feelings. You can't imagine my emotions when I finished telling her that I was done with the JW's and in turn....she told me that she also was done with them. We have stayed close ever since. Oh yeah....we can fight like cats and dogs sometime because I as a father sometimes can't admit that she is a grown woman who can make her own decisions. I have that need to protect even though she can protect herself.
Her JW cousins who for a time stayed close finally abandoned her an have nothing to do with her anymore because they still drink the Koolade. I would love to see this cult taken down before I die. I'm 72 years old now and living the best life ever. I'm happy I still have my health. My doctor wants me to lose weight but I like to eat and drink my beer. So be it!
My wish is for all the ones still trying to get out to reach their goal and be as happy as I am.

I was just there last week in the -29 degree weather to close on a house I bought in Oakdale, Minnesota. Being a Florida resident for 5 years has taught me that it is no longer the paradise that people think it is. The only ones who can be comfortable in southwest Florida are the well heeled retirees who can afford one home in their northern home state and another one here. The working class cannot afford to live comfortable here anymore since the wages are 20 some years behind the times. Thankfully I have a half decent pension but even with that, the rent and cost of living are above what my income can do. I was lucky enough to get a VA loan even at my age. My monthly total with the mortgage, insurance, taxes and HOA fees is $300.00 a month less than what I have to pay for rent in Bonita Springs. So Minnesota is going to be my new home. Anyhow...……...the gist of this post is to see if there is anyone on this forum from the Stillwater, White Bear Lake, Mahtomedi area. If so, maybe we could have a meet up in the near future.
