Changed my avatar-And how did the Romans Execute You?
by fulltimestudent inbeen meaning to do that for a while - and just saw an article in bar (see below) and thought - that's how i feel today (grin) i've had the flu for 2 weeks and feel really pissed off.. sunday before last, my friend visiting from china, calls up and says come to dinner tonite, meet me at darling harbour.
so did that, and even though we could've walked to the restaurant he'd selected in about 15 minutes, he decides (he's rather wealthy) we should take a water taxi to circular quay (for those who know sydney).
i protested, as i knew it was expensive - $70 for a 10 minute ride.we're no sooner in the boat, than it starts to rain like hell, and before the boatmaster could get the curtains down, i was soaked on one side.

What changes are on the way?
by insearchoftruth ini was listening to the co talk to my wife’s congregation on sunday and pretty much the complete talk was justifying doctrinal and organizational changes and pretty much preparing the ‘rank and file’ for upcoming changes.

I'm 74 years old and have my two Phizer shots. First one last March and the second one in April. No problems at all other than the tail that is growing out of my rear. I'll get the booster one of these days.

Do any of you ex JW`s ever feel ashamed or embarrassed to admit you were once a JW? To your now friends / associates ?
by smiddy3 ini ask this now because i have been living in this town for the past 14 years and the circle of friends i have now i have never let on i am an ex jw.. i`m talking about 30-50 people at least.. not that the subject has ever really come up , but i think they would be shocked / amazed that i was a ( i hate this word ) a "devout" jw for 32 years going around knocking on peoples doors trying to convert them to the religion .. yet every now and again i get tempted to.. how say you ?.

About 50% of all the friends and acquaintances I have made over the past 20 years since leaving the JW's know that I used to be one because I told them, or it came up in conversation. When I now meet someone who may become a friend or acquaintance, I don't bring it up at all. If they ever start talking about religion and the subject of JW's is brought up, then I will have a chance to anti-witness once again.

My daughter usually does the Thanksgiving dinner. We love the all natural, no hormone turkeys that we have done for several years. One year we did a turduckin. Duck stuffed into a chicken stuffed into a turkey. That was the one and only time for that. It isn't worth the $$$$. This year we are doing something different. She ordered a beef tenderloin. I'm sure it will be delicious. Then for Christmas, we are ordering the all natural turkey. A little switching around with the meals this holiday season.

Tax on Unrealized Capital Gains!
by Simon inso janet yellen, the us treasury secretary, thinks taxing unrealized capital gains would be a way for them to fund their runaway spending.. first, they claimed that the real cost of their nonsense spending was $0, so they were lying then or are lying now ("why not both?!").
second, they claimed that money printing doesn't affect inflation, so why not just print the money instead?.
third, the "for billionaires" is to get the feeble minded masses on board, those that live on benefits and vote democrat for more "free money", but the irs monitoring of $600 bank accounts is also apparently to target the ultra-wealthy as well.
