Did I open the gate to the realm of demons?

this is what happened.

i had a sore tendon in my wrist.

i could work with it, but nevertheless the pain was there.

I wish I had an answer to what you experienced but I don't. In 2008 I was a regular attender at an Assembly of God church (I don't go anymore) and I saw a lot of "bat shit crazy"! My own personal experience was a faith healing. For a number of years I had a bum right knee that gave me a lot of pain to the point that I was wearing a brace and needed a cane.

This particular Sunday the service was getting emotional and so was I. It seemed to me that the carrying on at some of the services was contageous and faked. All I wanted to do was kneel at the altar like some of the others but there was no way I could get down on my knees. I was just praying and the next thing I knew was that I was kneeling. I got up and was so emotional that I started jumping and dancing. The entire church was amazed and happy. I've never had another problem with the knee since. There is more to this story but I know I already made a lot here laugh. I won't go to a church like that again but it did happen.

The more they are exposed as family destroyers the better for all! What I would like to see is the TV stations that report on the conventions in their respective cities, talk about the negative side of JW's instead of the happy happy stuff about them.

i came in during all the hype over 1975. the predictions about that date were the real driver behind all their activity.

since then, they haven't had a good goad to prod the sheep.

they seem to be smart enough not to try another date.. i think they plan to use fear instead.

I like what FayeDunaway said.

What really angers me is that children are sitting there too, and taught these false prophesies and being scared. They don't have the perspective we have, they don't know to be cynical. They are taught to fear everything around them. This is child abuse.

Can anyone say......Jim Jones aka Jonestown? Or how about David Koresh aka Waco, Texas?

for me, i have only purchased just one powerball ticket in my life, that was few years ago and i am thinking about buying some more in the near future.

maybe i should push my luck even more this time.

i am going to buy 10 tickets.

I buy 2 powerball tickets every Wesnesday and Saturday. Someone eventually wins and everyone loves to dream a little. It's the people who say you are throwing your money away who are the most jealous of someone they know winning.

Demon possesion, bunch of crap or?

i've been using the forum to vent and post a lot more frequently lately as a venting purpose & way to obtain peace of mind with the craziness i've been going through recently as i fade away form the org.

anyways today i'm sitting here at work and thinking to myself about demons... ok i know this sounds crazy but has anyone else out there been traumatized by the thought of demons?

i had a dream the other night, just flat out spooky and i woke and couldn't help but feeling it may have been evil ole' satan and his demons at it again.. i don't want to believe that, (trying not to, & just brushing it under the rug so to speak) but have any of you out there been talked up about demons?

I sometimes wonder the same thing. About 8 years ago I was having some very weird and scary dreams. They seemed so real that I actually thought it was happening. One in particular happened at least three times over a period of weeks. It was as if I actually woke up, got out of my bed that was rocking slightly and items from the dresser would move. While this was happening I was thinking "I know I'm awake, this isn't a dream. I actually touched things in the dream thinking that I was awake. Call me crazy but I don't know what causes such vivid dreams.

Other dreams were of my late wife. I would be talking to her and knew that she was dead but here looking at me. One particular dream about 15 or more years ago (she's gone for 20 years now) she was in it and it turns out my daughter had the same dream on the same night I had it. Only she talked to my daughter and told her everything would be ok. My daughter and I described what she was wearing and it was exactly the same for both of us.

Demons? I don't know but when I was a good JW that is what I would have said.

You are a little behind the times. The 6 months rule was way way back about 1968 or 69. I know..........I can't keep up with the dozens of changes and flip flops either! lol

I actually believe they would study with someone perpetually just to count the time.

Question about baptism around 1973- can anyone answer for me?

i am hoping someone will take a look at this and be able to help me with my question.. i was baptized in 1973, you know, because i was a teenager and old enough to stand on my own when armageddon descended in 1975. .

perhaps elders, or any former elders especially, but anyone who was around then could help me with this question, because i honestly don't recall, and really need to know.. what were the baptismal questions the candidates responded to back then?

were we still asked if we repented of our sins, turned around, and were being baptized in the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit?.

I was dipped as a JW in 1971 in Pittsburgh, PA. if you are sincere in your Christian beliefs, have the baptism redone in your church as I did in 2008. My life as a "real" Christian is better than ever even though I am soooooo very imperfect.

My brother died last night

i found out this morning that my brother died last night, he was also an ex jw, 73 years old and died of heart disease and kidney failure.

it was not totally unexpected, as he had been in poor health, but it's a blow, especially as i just lost another brother two years ago.

there were six of us, now only four.

So sorry for your loss LisaRose. I'm about to turn 70 and I think about my mortality more than ever. I can see myself slowing down. I'm sure your brother felt the same as he got older. At least he saw the TTATT in time.

Why is Mother's Day wrong?

so why is celebrating mother's day wrong according to witnesses?.

is it not an opportunity to show respect to the giver of life (mother) and therefore god, the originator of families?.

does it not give an opportunity for members of the family to give a hard working mother a day off?

I just wish my "df'd since 1971 for smoking" mother were still alive so that I could celebrate her worth as my mother. She died in 1998 and I am proud to say that when I was a brainwashed dub, I never once allowed the JW doctrine to affect my relationship with her. Screw you Watchtower!

my eyes for ttatt opened in 1995 with the generation change and the wt magazine stated "some witness thought that the generation started in 1914".

since 1997, with internet at low speed, i followed h2o hourglass, www.xjw.com and later on www.jehovahs-witness.net.. did a bachelor and post bachelor since then.. now, nearly completed with fading, i feel it's time to go on with my life and do some other things, spending more time with my wife abd children instead of thinking about jw topics in my head.

goal is being a better person and less grumpy at 45.... everything what could be said is already said.

I've been out for 15 years and never even think about it until I see some of them walking the streets or at the city park sitting with the literature cart. But I still check this site out each and every day and even several times a day because I learn a lot here. This site keeps me informed about the latest idiocy that comes from headquarters and reinforces the fact that I made the right decision to leave. Please come back from time to time because your posts have always been a pleasure to read.
