Matthew 15:14 is really being fulfilled with Jehovah's Witnesses.
"Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch."
I have a hard time understanding how an individual can still cling to this religion with all of the changes that have come about. Years ago, if we so much as hinted to some of these things that are now ok, we would have been called to an elder's meeting very quickly. Some have even been disfellowshipped for wrong thinking.

Where is Tony?
by Athanasius inon february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

Babystar said: I just realized something. It's strange that not only Tony, but also his wife has gone into hiding.
Remind me of Scientology. The head of the religion, David Miscavige's wife was last seen in public in 2007.
Hmmmm!

Would you be able to survive a three day Assembly?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthe last assembly i attended was over 10 years ago.
the monotone speakers, boring talks, uncomfortable seats, long prayers and nodding off after the lunch break did me in.
i survived the morning sessions, but the afternoon sessions were brutal.

My last assembly was in 1996 a couple of months after my wife died. Our assemblies (District Conventions) for the Pittsburgh/Western Pennsylvania area were in Cleveland, Ohio at what was called the Convocation Center. I don't know what it is called now.
I was still in somewhat of a fog because of the death of my wife as I drove to Cleveland via the PA and Ohio Turnpikes. Somewhere along the way at a rest stop, I ran into a family from my KH. I was just glad that someone saw me going there. Once I got to the center and the program started, my mind was everywhere but on the boring speakers. Somewhere deep inside, I knew that I couldn't do this much longer.
When the afternoon lunch break came, I went to my car and drove back home. That was it. I did not drive back the other days of the convention. The biggest problem I had was lasting another 4 years before my final cut with JW's. But in that time, I never went to another assembly or convention.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised that TM signed a non-disclosure (keep your mouth shut) agreement in order to live in that North Carolina home that most of us could not afford, for free, for the rest of his days.

Ages of each user here?
by ukpimo ini'm interested to know the age demographics here.
it must be significantly different to other exjw forums.
it would be a damning report for watchtower if most of us appear to have left for decades.. you don't have to mention your exact age, you could always say "in my 50s".. i am in my 70s.

Moving on in a new chapter
by redsetter2 inmoving on is the hardest thing anyone has to cope with.. i have officially left the org.
and now it feels my family have been waiting to do this for a long time, officially shunning me, even though they were practically doing this whilst i was still in.. it feels like i've accomplished a victory and at the same time i feel guilty i was tangled up in communication with someone who "hid who they were" claiming to leak information from bethel.
i got the call from the man who i thought i worked with.

90 DAY DISFELLOWSHIPPING!!!
by DisgruntledFool inhas anyone else caught this tidbit in the new s-395 instructions?:.
"if the individual is not an apostate or actively promoting wrongdoing, they will also inform him that they would like to meet with him again in three months to determine if he has had a change of heart.
in some cases, but not all, the committee may determine that there is basis for reinstating the individual at that time".

New light
by Elena inthings are changing so rapidly.
there is so much confusion now.. if we can talk to disfellowshiped/disassociated ones to invite them to meetings then is it really going to stop there?.
some family members haven’t had contact for decades and now after yesterdays new light they will all be getting calls.
