hi... just popping in to say hi.

i've gotten allot of pm's asking me where i've been, and i don't really have time to respond to them all, but i just want to say that i'm well but very busy.

thanks so much for showing so much concern... wish i could stay and chat a bit but i can't... things are crazy, i'll write an update sometime.

I tend to agree with Lady..........they won't, don't get it ......I'd love to tell my old JW mates that it's all crap but I know that they'd think I'm mad !

As a fader I'd be regarded as spiritually weak and they'd say ..........

"we saw that coming.........he was weak anyway etc etc"

Its only when they find out through their own efforts that they will realise.......

This site and efforts of people like DauntedDanny of the mad class, raise awareness, they don't de-convert people but it is chipping away at them and one day they may stop to look for themselves.

Green Thumb in the UK - a new way to Pioneer?

in the uk a new craze is underway in the org - its called "green thumb" and is run by an elder in heswall on merseyside.. he is recruiting other elders and ms to buy franchises and county areas and employ pioneers to sell the services door to door or on the phone.

been going now about 4 years and the bro in heswall is now worth 30million.. he encourages the franchise holders to employ pioneers and "youths" because they are reliable, experienced salespeople and dirt cheap.

anybody heard of this .

JWs are boxing their hobbies

much entertainment in the watchtower, 15 august 2004, pg 24. see the picture for the full text to learn that we can "put off every unecessary weight" by boxing up our "hobbies and non-essential personal projects.

I don't see what all the fuss is about??...... I've been full time pioneering for the last 14 years, apart from a 1 year spell when I broke my leg water sking ! ..........and if possible I always try to combine my pioneer work with my hobbies.

The PO & I play golf together after field service every Saturday, weather permitting and occasionally the CO will join too, I've managed to get my handicap down to 5 this year, with coaching from him. Trying to witness on the Golf course encourages the other golfers to be friendly too, everytime they see us coming, they now wave us through, which is really kind and upbuilding.

Hunting and fishing is great too because it helps me get really close to God's creature's. I always share my spoils with the poorer brothers and sister in the KH, many of them now like foxes.

I told the elders that I had to stop my monthly contributions for a short while so I could save for my new boat, they didn't say too much, but I was very surprised that I got such a good deal from the Accounts brother, he's so mean normally, he even gave me some old life jacket's too.

We're going bungy jumping next week for a local charity !

just spent a small fortune because my front lawn got burnt up.

had to buy new sod.

Green Thumb is actually the name of a Company owned and run by JW's in the UK, they specialise in maintaining your garden lawn for a cost, on a quarterly basis i.e. a "Green Thumb" man will appear 4 times per year to sprinkle your lawn with treatment to make it grow and kill the weeds etc......

The original Green Thumb team was a father and son who "fell out", another Company was formed and is now in competition, its called Green Man......confused !

Anyway they work by selling a local franchise's for a given area .........usually bought by another JW (cost used to be around £20,000 each).

Last I heard it was also in the USA but under what name I don't know.
