since there is no way to change the password that i can find, im curious if the account can just be outright deleted?.

While you definitely arent wrong, it is just odd that a person cannot even change their password on the site, let alone delete the account (or heck, even edit old posts to delete them!).
Oh well, you may be right, it may be just a "security through obscurity" sorta situation.

there are a few things i picked up from watchtowerism that i still find value in.
(although, i could have easily picked them up elsewhere.).
one of these is the 30-day test to abstain from all booze.. .
The wife came down with the flu last sunday. I got hit Monday. We have been abstaining from alcohol since. Planning a nice 90 day vacation from it. Difficult since we have spent a fair bit of money building up our scotch collection, but I think we will feel better and save some scratch in the mean time.

i've, over the years, looked into many religions.
obviously, from those that have seen me post here, i've become an atheist simply because i couldn't find any reason to believe in god.
recently, though, over the past few months, a new change has started.

I was firmly in the "respect other religions!" catagory for a while. Trying to defend others' beliefs, trying to respect and dance around rules and regulations, when it finally hit me.
I have to *acknowledge* a person's religion, but I'll be damned if I have to *respect* it.
The entire idea of religion seems silly. The rituals, the traditions, its all just...Silly.
So yeah, I'll acknowledge that your religion forbids you from this or that. But I'll be damned if I let it influence my life.

It always felt wrong to hear "In this last system of things" or "Time of the end" etc.
Perhaps they meant the last of *their* system of things. There appeared to be a pretty decent exodus from the religion right around the time I left. WHich conincided with the rise of the internet.
i had a look in the library last meeting and my hall still has all the bound volumes going right back to the beginning.
including studies in the scriptures.
i thought the order from on high was that these were to be destroyed or taken away?
It is odd to see all of those. All the yearbooks, the old stuff that is so far outdated its ridiculous.
My father had a collection of bibles. 53 different translations. He studied each of them, but never saw the overarching irony that *each translation said different things*
