Shit. If that's true, Bush will win.

Has anyone else heard this prediction?
by Mulan ini heard a discussion on fox news last night about a surprise at the republican convention this week.
i cannot remember the analyst's name but he was basing it on several factors: dick cheney has cancelled all public appearances scheduled for this week (tv and radio interviews, etc)john mccain is speaking at the convention tonight (monday)tomorrow john mccain leaves ny to join the president in the west for two days of personal appearances and campaigningboth of them return to ny for the convention and the acceptance speech on thursdaylots of buzz at the convention about a big surprise coming during the week.. the prediction is that cheney will announce that his doctor has advised him that his health may not stand another 4 years as vp and that bush will announce john mccain as his running mate.
did anyone else hear this?

favourite games to play as a child during boring meetings
by Surfacing inmy parents were both very strict, and i wasn't allowed any toys at the hall.
my rations included a copy of my book of bible stories, and a pen and note pad.
my parents were strict to the point of not allowing me to draw pictures, i had to "take notes".

So..... Are Watchtowers a turn-on for you now? ;)
Now? Yes. But even more so back then. My mom was always impressed when I would take a Watchtower into the bathroom with me and "study" it for hours at a time.
Now, I pop wood at the sight of one laying around in a laudrymat. In fact, I have to avoid talking to street witnessers entirely, for fear of poking someone's eye out.

My favorite game was to try and give myself a boner, usually accomplished by checking out the nearest good-looking sister. Then, the object was to maintain the boner throughout the rest of the meeting. I only had a couple of time-outs that I could call, like standing during singing and trips to the bathroom. The rest of the time, the goal was to maintain the erection. Not easy, considering how mind-numbing a watchtower study could be. Only by constantly fantasizing about every sister could I possibly keep the boner. This sometimes forced me to fantasize about sisters who weren't nesscessarily pretty, but had other assets that could keep my going. Fat but big breasted, elders wives (power/control issues), handicapped sisters (more twisted power issues), crazy sisters (women you just grab a hold of the reigns and hold on to dear life to)...etc...
In any case, it was fun game, and a workout as well. (Keigal exercises).

Israeli Spy at the Pentagon...
by dolphman inhas anyone heard anymore on this issue.
someone in the upper ranks of the pentagon was working for israel, giving them memos on our possible actions against tehran.
the problem is, the person is also suspected of being the conduit from which we recieved those bs reports of iraq developing nuclear weapon technology.. it shows how uncomfortably close we are with israel's politics and policys, and how they can manipulate us.

No wonder the Arabs don't trust us.

I guess nobody on this board understands sarcasm or irony anymore. Did the joke about Bush playing the game "risk" alert anyone to this?
I was simply stating that if Bush was going to take over the world like he's trying to, he should've done it the way I specified. It has a higher success possibility. I'm not saying it's the right thing to do.

Simon,
Settle down and relax. Out with the bad and in with the good.
I'm just saying if this strategy was implemented from the beggining, it may have worked. I believe America may have gotten some allies together in this case. Nobody loved the Taliban. And hell, a lot of Saudis would be happy to help the US overthrow their monarchy.
BTW, America is not getting it's ass kicked militarily. Politically, yes, militarily, no. Trust me. It's simply the game of "How far can you throw the grenade without damaging the mosque" that's bogging us down.

I'm the poster that mentioned that yes, Bush is simply waiting out the election before moving on to Iran. We're already seeing the pieces being set in motion. Iran isn't helping itself out by issuing threats of its own. But clearly once Bush is guaranteed another 4 years, he's going to get busy with the work that's left to be done. By simply invading Iran, he gets to knock out Syria and Egypt all in one punch, since they won't stand by. Personally, I don't think he's interested in taking on N.Korea. But rather, it's mostly a Middle East game, because that's where the business interests of the Bush and Saudi families are vested.
I think taking out Iran is pretty good idea. It would've been the smart place to have started all this stuff. But after the Iraq debacle, it's a dumb idea. Iran shouldn't have nukes, I agree with that. But if Bush is going to invade Iran to make a democracy, then he should also invade Saudi Arabia, which he won't, because we all now know that it was never his intention to remake the middle east SIMPLY for the sake of democracy. But rather, it's a combination of strategic oil supply and ambition mixed with it. Blood and oil mixed with the Saudis and the Bush's living happily ever after.
Here's how it should've happened. If you're going to be a war president, you can't fuck up such a simple formula.
Invade Afghanistan and thoroughly defeat the Taliban and Al-Quaeda. (I still think this was a smart thing to do, they should've finished it)
Give the Palestinians the West Bank, at least some of it and allow them self rule. (A very good idea, one way to get some warm-fuzzys from the arabs)
Invade Saudi Arabia or force it to become a democracy. (This is a must to be taken seriously by the arabs)
Invade Iran and fight Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt with it. Remake all of them democracies. (This is a lot like making your kid drink chicken broth, not fun but good for them)
Mission Accomplished.
Now you can move on to an isolated N.Korea. And when you're done with them, China...
Didn't Bush ever play Risk as a kid? He should know this...

Into the mystic (an experience).
by El blanko inthe following i wrote to a friend this morning and doctored slightly for this forum.
can any of you relate to this kind of mystical experience and if you would be kind enough, would you mind me quoting any experiences listed to my friend?
please be aware that the letter uses language to detach me away from the watchtower (thus church, instead of congregation etc).

Tai Chi is cool. As a kid I used to make fun of it for being so slow but now that I understand chi is an actual REAL thing then it simply blows me away to think as humans we have the ability to interact with the forces that make up the universe in any capacity. Mind blowing stuff, and like you said, all based on love.

Philosophy: Satan's tool?
by M.J. ini have heard much railing from the wts about the snares of "worldly philosophies".
according to the wts, much of what is evil in the world, including the teachings of "babylon the great" is rooted in philosophy.
this appears to be one of their hotbutton "buzzwords" to promote irrational fear about anything related to philosophy.

Here's the weird thing:
In Hebrew gematria, the study of Hebrew letters and their numbered meanings, "Serpent" and "Messiah" have the same numerical value. In other words, this would signify that they are the same thing. There are other examples of Hebrew words doing this very same thing. All Hebrew words have a corresponding numerical value, and when added up,they can have alternate or "deeper" signifigance than just what the words themselves mean.
The point is, there are some who in certain mystic circles (Kabbalist) think that Satan and Jesus are the same. Evil is only an illusion created by a mind that through it's own abuse of willpower has "fallen" out of glory with god. Hence, evil is only real on the physical level of existence, where we see ourselves as seperate from god, something Satan did. However, this same capability of willpower (satan) can bring us back into the onefold nature of existence (to God, Jesus, whatever), hence it isn't entirely a bad thing, and is still "part" of something good. So I guess philosophy, if it gets us thinking about god, whether or not it is a tool of Satan, would accomplish a holy purpose.
I don't write this shit, I just read it.
