  i've only got one sibling and she's a dub.

  " line a few times but recently there was a slightly different slant to it.

  she said to me that if i find something better than the dubs then to let her know but for the moment she thinks the jws are the best of a bad lot.

  i recently met a woman here at work (a contractor) and discovered she is an ex-jw.

  eventually we got around to telling why each of us left the religion.

  she said the main reason for her was not doctrines, but because she was tired of the physical and emotional abuse she received.

  Iquit said...."You said she mentioned that her problem wasn't with their doctrines. I'm assuming she does know that their doctrines are false. If she doesn't find out just how wrong they are she might go through life feeling guilty for leaving the WT even though she was abused by her parents.

  Donny, try to get her to read "Crisis of Conscience" by Ray Franz, just in case.

  How Far Back Does Your Memory Go?

  mine goes back to may of 1955.. i was 17 months old.. my mother went into labor with the last of her 13 children, and i remember pitching a fit because the midwife wouldn't let me into her room.. how about you?.

  That's very interesting.

  I looked up "Easter" in the dictionary, and it says...."an annual Christian festival in the spring celebrating the resurrection of Jesus"....

  I then looked up "Passover" which the Watchtower uses in place of Easter in Acts 12:4, in the dictionary, and it says...."Jewish holiday commemorating the deliverance of the ancient Hebrews from slavery in Egypt".

  Now, we all know that the Watchtower always quotes the dictionary to verify their definitions, so how can they "verify" this complete change in definition with two totally different subjects?

  editted to add: I found a scripture that the Watchtower uses to justify their change. It's 1Corinthians:7 which reads (in both the NWT and KJV)..."For, indeed, Christ our passover has been sacrificed."

  So, I guess with this scripture they were able to remove and change "Easter" in Acts12:4.

  CORRECTION.....1Corinthians:7 should read "1Corinthians 5:7" Sorry about the error.

  Rebel, I assume you have "indoor" house cats.

  You probably need a cat that stays outdoors. In my old house, we've had at different times...mice, squirrels, bats. Squirrels are the worse. I hope that's not what you have.

  Which reminds me...I ran over a male squirrel last week.

  I think Rebel8 showed us she has a cat. (Don't feed your cat for 3 days......It'll find that mouse). Just kidding.

  Do you live in a single family home? Look for openings in the foundation.

  Do you have a cellar? Put mouse traps there, and spread a small amount of peanut butter on the trap catch. Work it in good, then set it.
