Shunning, for reasons not related to religion

it appears i am being shunned.

i have been trying to establish a relationship with my father's family back in scotland.

i have sent letters, emails, phone calls, none of which have been returned.. i found out the reasons why too, get this.

i have been reading many threads on disfellowsipping, and it makes me wonder if there were many who were disassociated, or thrown out of the org.

for reasons other than what the watchtower officially teaches?

I CONFRONTED THE ENTIRE CONGREGATION TODAY

today, i was on the scene of the local congregation of jw's where my ex-wife and her husband attend.

physical, emotional and mental abuse has been purpetrated upon my kids for eight years now.

they have been victims of alcoholism, verbal bashings and they have been made to watch their stepfather beat the hell out of their mother and then be halled off to jail without saying a word to anyone for fear fo reprisal from him and their mother.

Thanks for all the great replies on this thread. I am getting a lot of ideas from these replies, on how to help my daughter out of the clutches of the org., with your true experiences.

I find that this is a subject that I can really work on to help me.

I am benefitting a great deal from your experiences, and I hope I will get many more responses to this thread, as they are all beneficial to my "quest" of seeing my daughter and her husband eventually out of this destructive cult. They may not be baptised yet, but it doesn't matter because they are totally involved in whatever the w.t, tells them.

hi i was just wondering, is it really different being in the witness religion as a full- fledged member than when you are studying with them.

Sam, another good site to learn about the Watchtower cult (Yes, it is a cult) is "Shaun's Research". I can't seem to link sites, but if you type in Shaun's Research, you'll find it, or someone else on this thread might bring it up for you. It's a good site for "beginners", like you and me.

Sam and Karategirl, stay with this site too, as you will find tons of info., and tons of good people that will help you to see the "Truth" here. (The REAL truth).

i just put the best cat in the world to sleep this morning, and i feel like a murderer.

he had cat aids, and he was so sick this last year.

Sorry to hear about your "feline friend".

A few years ago, my wife and I had one cat that we truly loved. A small cat, and very, very clean. It was our daughter's cat, and when she moved, My daughter couldn't keep it, so we grudgingy took it in. I'm not usually fond of cats in the house, but this one became another "kid" to us. As soon as I came home and sat in my chair in front of the t.v., she would either jump up and sit on my lap, or on the top of the back of the recliner, next to my head, and just stay there and pur. we'd find her in the funniest places at times, like if you left a bureau drawer open, she'd climb in and go to sleep. In the morning, when my wife would let her in off the breezeway, she would jump up on the bed, give me a tiny 'me'ew, and curl up at my feet and sleep, till I woke up again. On one occasion, she just sat 4 inches from my face, and stared at me until I woke up. What a surprise to wake up and see a cat that close. I gasped, and jumped, and she took off. LOL !! She was great for catching spiders, too. Not one bug in the house. She ended up with feline leukemia, and we had to bring her to be put to sleep. I cried when they handed us the box that she was in. We'll never forget her, and never will find a cat that great again, but we have lots of memories of her. We buried her in our back yard, next to my wife's flower garden. ......((((hugs))))

I am getting lots of help on this site, and I wouldn't want to take a chance on hurting anyone here, if that could happen.

Are there any other forums out there that have j.w.'s and ex-j.w.'s on it together, that would be a good site for someone studying with the j.w.'s, to get them to see apostate material, as they are not supposed to do otherwise?
