  How do you like your steak?

  before leaving the jws, i never knew what medium rare nor rare steak tasted like.

  i always had mine well done.

  i got sick of steak because it just didn't taste all that good.. after leaving, i had a steak that was medium rare.

  Do you use anything with pagan origins?

  i'm conversing with a jw about the "pagan origin" issue.

  i'm familiar with the fact that the names of the months and days of the week, wedding rings, and baptism all have pagan origins and are accepted for use by jw's.

  can you guys think of anything else that jw's partake of or accept or use that has questionable origins?

  Penny, I asked the same question about bttt when I started here. it means "Back To The Top". When anyone, including you, writes a post, it goes to the top of the "active topics" list. If you post, and click on "active topics", your post will be at the bottom of the first page, which is really the top...(huh)?

  Oh, and if you click on the smily face when you are writing a post, you can choose an icon to put in your post, as I have done. Just click on it.

  Pagan origin <> This reminds me of what my daughter said when I asked why she wasn't going to celebrate Thanksgiving with us this year. ...You guessed it...Pagan origin. I asked her to explain, but she couldn't.

  i finally got around to searching out my photos of beth shan.

  the house had a facelift in the 70's and is looking a bit shabby now.

  the old lady who lives there won't let people have a look around the house (quite understandable).

  FEAR!! PANIC!! ALARM!!

  i use to be afraid of the dark.i would feel the ___presence__of unseen things.

  creepy stuff.. but, when i became agnostic and left all things religious behind me a very strange side effect took place in my life.

  just this: nothing makes me afraid anymore!.

  Congratulations, FBF.. !!

  If you can get dividends or royalties without doing a lot of the work and responsibilities of it, go for it! But, make sure you get this in writing. Good luck to you.

  Lots of things are going wrong...

  i'm going through a time when so many things seem to be going wrong.. doesn't it seem as though it never rains, it pours?.

  i know the skeptics will roll their eyes at this suggestion: i think that sometimes things happen this way for a reason, and that when we successfully get through it, we are so much stronger.. what do you think about the idea that trials sometimes come along for a reason?.

  When I have problems at work that make me think about quiting, I write a list, one column for the positive things at work, the other for the negative. Then, I weigh them out to see if I should stay on and bear with it, and maybe make some changes in the way I react to the negative things.

  A good example of this is, I worked with a guy who was very jealous of me, because I got my old job back, and he felt I shouldn't have been there, because he wasn't getting any more overtime, and he felt it was my fault. Plus, there were other reasons, too, but it all came down to jealousy. So, it came to a point when I had to weigh the pros and cons myself, and finally came to a decision that I would just ignore him,(like he was doing to me), and just do my job to the best of my ability, and whatever happens, happens. Well, after taking this "abuse" for 3 years, he quit !!! Now, no more stress, and I actually look forward to going to work again.

  I hope it doesn't take you 3 years to get over your problems at work, but what I'm trying to say is, by changing your attitude and hanging in there for a while, it might all change for the better.

  It seems like,, when things go great for a while, look out, because something is going to throw a wrench in the spokes. But, it all gets fixed, eventually.

  Hope this helps. It did for me. Sorry to hear about all your other problems, too.

  I just read parts of it. (Thanks, Blondie).

  Looks like the w.t. put all of their crap in one easy to read brochure.

  I don't see much change in their views, though, except I believe it is a starting point for their future Armaghedon date. I absolutely believe they will have a new one, within two years. They have to, or they won't be able to push the "end" theme, and push all the j.w.'s to do more work for the w.t. cause. ie;, sell or place books, and also keep them "hanging on" in fear.
