mkr, i wasn't talking about a dna-cocktail, but a cocktail including dna. and when i say dna, i'm not thinking about different races, but simpy another cocktail of our parents dna, no matter what race.

Do what nature failed to do: Abort the abnormality.
i'm glad you exposed your nazi worldview about natural selection on your own, robdar, so i didn't have to.
as to statistics regarding murders compared to population: in the US about 6 murders are commited per 100,000 a year - in my country we got a rate of 1.8 attempted murders per 100,000/year (with only very few of them actually being successful). i am not patriotic in any way, maybe someone has statistics for other western countries. -

So the rest of our citizens must suffer because a psychopath had an extreme dna cocktail?
did you actually read what i posted?
I suppose that you, yourself, don't mind dying at the hands of one of these hellions? What about your family? Do you mind a psychopath killing them?
of course would i mind. but i wouldn't want the murderer to be killed, just locked away and receive psychological treatment.
We all make choices and decisions.
that's right. and we make choices and decisions based on who we are and how we see things. if your personality aint normal, your choices and decisions are not normal.
So sad.
yeah, it's sad that some states still have such archaic rules.
What? People don't get murdered in your country? Wow!
extremely rarely.
it would seem that you would feel less sympathy for the criminal and more for the victim.
how would you know what i feel for the victims? and when did i say i have sympathy for the criminal? -

By your thinking I am now programmed to become either a pedophile or a mass murderer.
no, that's only one ingredient in one big cocktail of circumstances. i had a very abusive childhood too, i would never say that everyone who was abused as a child will do this and that. it's just one variable. you and me probably had better friends then or better dna or a better social situation or whatever - something was different.
Should he be imprisoned for life? Or are you saying he needs psychiatric counseling
definately.
and then should be released?
of course not! this person is a threat to other people. but that doesn't give anyone the right to kill him.
What do weapons of mass destruction have to do with the death penalty?
last time i checked a pretty big amount of dollars was used to buy weapons... and i guess it wasn't the presidents savings that were used. -

that's basically what i'm saying, with the exception that i wouldn't call it a historical inevitability, as circumstances are a matter of chance/coincidence. so yes, i'm saying noone is completely responsible for his acts, but for security reasons such a person has to be locked away and looked after by a professional psychologist.

Which three books would you have taken?
by MungoBaobab inat the end of george pal's 1960 classic "h.g.wells' the time machine," the main character returns from 1899 to the year 802701 to rebuilt civilization.
mankind has forgotton about science, religion, technology, art, agriculture, everything.
after he has left, his housekeeper notes that the only things the time traveller took with him are three books.

Assumption of Moses
by googlemagoogle ini've read claims (mentioning origen) that jude 9 would be a quote from the "assumption of moses", also known as the "testament of moses".
however, i can't find any reference in this pseudepigraphical writing that would even losely have a connection to a fight between michael the archangel and the devil.
what i also find confusing, that the "book of jubilees" is sometimes called "testament of moses" too, but that's a whole different story.

Do you think any Scripture is actually "inspired" of God?
of course not. but these "scriptures" are interesting historical documents which still have huge impact on our culture. and if you want to show someone that the bible aint god's word, you better be familiar with it. -

What have you done to counteract the 'cult of Jehovah's witnesses?'
by AK - Jeff ini know that many here would place jehovah's witnesses on a list of 'cults'.
personally i don't think they meet all the standard definition - but would class them as an 'authoritarian sectarian movement'.
at any rate, most of us would not want our neighbors to get caught up in the mind-twisting that we endured and from which we finally removed ourselves.. that said - have any engaged in successfull enterprises to counter the movement?

Then by your standards there is nothing that would identify a cult.
yes, there is, but the list may not include the word "bible" (as if there would be only christian cults) nor a specific exegesis. by your definition the writer of "james" was member of a cult too.
could that member question that doctrine and not be excommunicated?
there you go! that's a sign of a cult.
but the list you offered is surprisingly similar to WTO argumentation: they are wrong, so we must be right. -
