am i the only one here who feels sorry for the parents? you guys know how entrinched they muct be in the WTS and that they made this choice based on a lie. i don't blame the parents...i feel very sorry for them. they must be going through hell right now. i blame the WTS!!! god will not forget the innocent blood that the WTS has spilled!

Article Allegedly Makes End of the World Predictions re 2034
by rebel8 ini saw someone post about a march 2005 wts publication making thinly veiled threats predictions about 'the end' coming in 2034. now i can't find the thread.
i had heard some talk about this previously, but then was told it was a hoax....wts supposedly had not said anything about it.
then i heard this week a publication just came out that does say it.

My wife is getting baptized on the 19th!

basically i asked her why she isn't coming to me to find out my concerns.
i am the person who has the most invested in her.

How about an apostate who used to work in Bethel to corroborate the story?
my father, a hard core JW and former bethalite with strong ties to bethal, has told me to my face that the society monitors apostate websites. take it for what it is.

by defd inwhat would you have done back in the 1st century when jesus came on the earthly stage and started christianity.

wow this is a pretty big hypothetical question but i will entertain it. first off i want to reiterate that the letters to the first century congreagation found in the bible canon are just a snipit of the "inspired" letters going around at the time and they only give us a glimpse as to what was actually going on at that time. now if i happend to be born in that area at that time i would find the teachings of jesus very refreshing. jesus spoke about love and compassion and rebuked those like the pharisees who were controlling and abused their power. i would have welcomed a change from that burdensome religion. if i were in the congregation and saw the things being argued over i would have taken sides with those who supported free thought, a personal relationship with god and living a life in the footsteps of christ. i would have opposed those that tried to make their own rules by twisting scripture.

CYP.....what you need to focus on right now is buying some time. ask her why she wants to get baptised right away. remind her that she will have more opportunities to get baptised. also remind her that if she has already made a dedication to god in her heart then that is what really matters. the actual babtism is just a symbol of the dedication she has already made. if you can get her to agree to put off baptism for just 6 months then you will have won half the battle. talk about compromise and how important it is for you two to meet on mutual terms. she may be afriad that if she doesn't get baptised and if the "END" comes she won't make it but remind her that her dedication to god in prayer is what is most improtant and that god knows her heart condition. if she agrees to wait then you can slowly get her to think about it a bit more.

i think that the JWs are right about a lot of stuff but they are also wrong about alot of stuff. the stuff that they are wrong about is enough for me not to want to be a part of that organization but i do charish and value some of the education that i recieved from them. what exactly are you talking about that they are right on?

i thought about going and partaking in the wine and bread. when my dad asks what the hell i was doing i'd say that "since i've left the WTS i've never felt closer to God and that i believe i am going to heaven".....so THAT's why i partook. hahahah i bet he'd really shun me forever for that one.
