I take the view (reinforced by many, many e-mails and messages over the years) we all underestimate how
powerful it can be to RAISE POINTS OF DISCREPENCY AND FACT out loud and in print.
If a person is undecided which course to take--their mind is opening to ADDITIONAL thoughts not previously considered.
If you say some tiny thing which raises a point of consideration---it can be a powerful lever poised to lift the veil and expose the true truth.
Maybe most of the time JW's don't listen or won't listen.
But--IF THE RIGHT THING IS SAID AT THE RIGHT TIME . . . it can make all the difference in the world to changing their life for the good!
That keeps me going!
When I was a little boy, my grandmother (who was Catholic) used to watch a TV program produced by the Christophers.
I would sit in her lap as she watched it. The only thing that stayed with me was the opening of the show.
The screen was black . . . then a match was struck . . . and a candle was lighted as a chorus sang this song:
"IF EVERYONE LIT JUST ONE LITTLE CANDLE . . .WHAT A BRIGHT WORLD . . . THIS WOULD . . BE . . ."

The Governing Body has accumulated the over-confidence of nitpicking, interpreting, predicting, legislating, ruling, quantifying,
parsing, and otherwise extrapolating from scripture as though the Bible somehow grew new words every few months!
The BIBLE DOES NOT CHANGE--only the GB's views change!

Recently, I spoke with a 19 year old JW. He was a young man of 19 currently DF'd. He is trying to get reinstated,
but he has his doubts (however slim.)
I asked him if anybody had ever asked, "Exactly HOW does Jehovah manage to use the GB to channel something
if it comes out wrong and requiring adjustment? How is it merely an adjustment if it completely changes?
How was it "true" if it changed to its opposite? Why keep 7 million JW's busy preaching and teaching things which
turn out NOT to be worth saving?"
He gave the usual replies. If you wait on Jehovah He makes it come out right.
I asked how DANGEROUS it is to expect people to accept or reject salvation itself BASED ON CONTAMINATED teaching?
That's what they say they are doing: separating sheep and goats BASED ON the response to what they are teaching!
Is it doing anybody a favor to offer them something UNTRUE (it later changed, so it must be) which they rightly reject--
and then calling that separating sheep from goats?
Why shouldn't a one hundred year continuous history of wrong date-setting make householders REJECT JW teachings?

The CHIEF CLAIM made for and by the Governing Body (and FDS) is a huge claim.
1. Jehovah God, it is claimed, is going to Save OR Destroy humanity very soon based on each person's response to something important.
What is that something? It is a description of how each person must think and behave in relation to a government headed by Jesus Christ.
2. The facts about Jesus' government are contained ONLY in the published works of the Watchtower Society. Exclusively, this corporation and
its leaders are specifically guided to educate and enlighten the population of Earth concerning events in the near future.
3. This conduit of instruction from Jehovah--through the Watchtower Corp.--by means of a volunteer ministry dispenses only vital facts.
4. Persons who receive, believe, and accept this information are required to commit themselves wholeheartedly. It is a life or death decision.

1. It was claimed that King Jesus Christ began ruling in 1874 and would bring destruction of all opposers in 1914.

admitted he made an ass of himself. Four years later, after this failure and disproof, a mansion was built in 1929 for these same "ancient
worthies" to live in. Instead, the President (J.F.Rutherford) who made an ass of himself moved in and dwelled there 13 years. No worthy man of faith ever lived there and it was later sold.

3. From 1966 through 1975 a worldwide push to inform the population of Earth of the "End of 6,000 years of human existence"began and millions of
books (THE TRUTH THAT LEADS TO ETERNAL LIFE) were sold (Guiness Book of World Records). The End Date for this event was 1975. Marriage, Education, Careers, everything were set aside.
RESULT OF TEST NUMBER THREE
FAILED!
3. Nothing happened and no announcement was made by the same Organization which had pushed every member
to the limit against an impending deadline. Eventually, this Watchtower Society run by Anointed mouthpieces of God, made the excuse
everyone who had listened to the repeated warnings were guility of reading too much into what was published! To this day, nothing has
been reported has to HOW this error came about, why it was pushed so hard, and what became of the ones who saw fit to make it the number
one priority of Jehovah's Witnesses. Oh wait--the man who was responsible, Fred Franz, was rewarded for this monumental failure. How?
He was made the President of the WTS!

a young 14 year old girl was disfellowshipped in my former congregation last week

was expelled out because she participated in more than one porn videos with classmates in the school and theses videos became public.
she is 14 years old and grew up as witnesses.but anybody knows she had many boyfriends and she-, but that thing was unbelievable!

1. Do everything within their power to nurture, restore, cherish and return the young girl to the fold and the embrace of Christ's loving arms
2. Cut her loose and good riddance
The course they took says more about their shepherding ethic than about the young girl.

An Elder said: 'They're in prison for a reason'
by NAVYTOWN inseveral years ago, i was studying the bible (jw literature) with an ms from the local congregation.
i happened to mention that i had several pen pals who were incarcerated in various prisons.
no matter what crimes they committed, i said i saw them as fellow human being who deserved to have a friend to write to.

Now that you've had the experience that this other brother had, what advice would you give to someone heading to prison (someone who is one of the 'unlucky ones,' not a criminal)?

You raise an important question which has caused me a great deal of retro-anguish because I just realized--nobody in any congregation cared enough
TO REFER a brother facing prison to another brother FOR ADVICE!
That is unconscionable and can only mean nobody gave a rat's ass.

I did receive one phone call from a brother in Oklahoma. I don't remember how he got my phone number. Seems odd since plenty of brothers in
Oklahoma had gone through the same thing. Be that as it may . . .
I tried to tell him what to expect, first of all.
1. The chief problem you face is three fold. Psychological, Safety, Emotional.
You have no control over anything; often, not even yourself. You are forced into close contact with vile human beings who smell weakness and it enrages them to want to bully you. Prison rape is not a crime of passion or sex. It is a demonstration of dominance, rage and control. Your family and friends
will not understand. After a couple of months, you won't have anything in common with your closest loved ones because your world is no longer theirs.
2. You cannot obsess over WHEN you will be getting out! You are in a stream of time which is moving and you must learn which direction the flow is going. If you think about family and friends, loved ones and happy times of old you are swimming against the current. You will tire and drown emotionally.
You stop dreaming about anything but INSIDE prison in a remarkably short time. In fact, the "real" world and your old life become more like a dream or story somebody told you long ago. It becomes so unreal it ceases to be anything but pain.
Visits are extremely uncomfortable because neither the inmate nor the visitor can talke about "what's going on" without hurting each other. So, you often end up sitting like an old married couple with nothing much worth saying. That HURTS.
Finally, you must realize you cannot give off a "vibe" of any kind. You must be unreadable and blank or else. Or else what? Or else, an expert (criminal) will "read your vibes" and instantly form a plan to exploit you!
Keep to yourself, keep your mouth shut. Avoid eye contact. Your world is inside your mind. Control your thinking by being positive, upbeat and learn to live in the NOW. Read, read, read. Study. Learn things. I taught myself to play the piano (by sneaking into the Catholic rectory instead of going to the
Mess Hall for Dinner. Time moves in one direction only and no power on earth can stop you from reaching your destination one day. Don't pull time; let time pull you.
