WHAT IF WE DIDN'T POISON CHILDREN'S MINDS WITH FANTASY?

every baby born seems to have a giant helping of fairy stories, talking animals, outrageous exaggerations parading as "fact" and an endless stream of cartoons, science fiction and make-believe.

the laws of nature and physics are violated every few seconds in film and tv!

is it surprising that children are not only ignorant of how things really work-but, they don't have patience and an appetite for fact when they get to the schoolroom.

Actually Simon has been offending, so far he has said that my children are "stupid" if they believe in Santa and that I am "dumb" if I teach them that Santa is real.
By the way Simon, I do teach my kids about Santa and they believe he is real, but I have never blackmailed or bribed (emotionally or otherwise) them...they just believe the whole fantasy. Actually, I never though I would teach my children about Santa, my oldest just was taken in by the holiday cartoons and movies and I just found it enjoyable to play along. She is now seven and she still believes!
I take great pride in raising my children. I think they are beautiful and well adjusted for their ages. I am more worried that they may grow up and get mixed up with the wrong crowd, start doing drugs or have babies at 13 or 14 years old, than if they grow up believing in UFO's. I take the necessary precautions to stop the real dangers that may affect my children rather than spend my time nit-picking the harmless things.
That is just my opinion though, I am sure not all here will agree.

woman what happens when your kids find out from some other kid that santa dosen't exist

and they confront you on it, or when you do finally break it to them then

they go into this what else are you hiding from me mood.

kids don't like being lied to period, even from mommy!!!

when I was growing I felt sorry for kids like yours.

then when they get older you suffer

tell them the truth or else watch that additude of not listening to you grow because their trust of you was abused.

But all the above matters not. Take Tom Cruise for instance. He can't even read but he's one of the greatest actors of all times, makes mad money and he seems to be very intelligent.

now I know why his movies suck. he can't read the scripts

spelling and saying correctly does not a smart man or woman make

you sound stupid when you learn a new language but you aren't

as a kid I beleived star trek was real this was back when I was 3

until my father who never told me it was real told me it was not so I trusted him

and this is the old cheesy star trek not the next generation

but if he would of told me it was real i would've believed

why would he lie to me he loved me right

he did that's why he told me again and again it's not real son

you lie to your kids you pay later in life with lack of trust when you need it

on the other hand story telling is needed to spur imagination a long as you tell them it's fake not real

make some sence if say one angel thought that he was the supior being hence man sould work for him that would explain alot

I base this theory on the premise that you really can not do anything for him or an angel

they can easily do it better, faster, harder

almost explains why we create sort replacements for them in machines

I doing this to mainly to find why god ticks

god is an atheist being that there is no god in theory above god

so would that make him anything else ?
