  Don't Like Your Avatar, Don't Like You!

  some time ago i attracted some really agressive responses that surprised me because i had no intention of offending so i had to learn a lot about how to word things on this forum, smiley faces etc so others would know i was pulling their leg, but i oftened wondered if a posters nickname or avatar puts you off instantly??

  you know, first impressions.

  i would think someone like satanus or mouthy would be intimidating but miss peaches was as nice as pie and this thinking might reflect how i would reply.

  How "old" is the oldest person who lived in your family?

  i was just wondering how old can a person live.

  my grandmother lived up to 97, almost 98. .

  those born in 1914 are 92 years old and some are still alive.. i guess that no one lived over 120 years since the flood.. how "old" is the oldest person who lived in your family?

  My Great Grandmother is 94, not one damn thing wrong with her.

  Plus, my Great Grandmother's mother was well into her 100's when she died.(can't remember the exact age)

  the wedding she is going to is nick's cousin(groom), who she used to date(short period of time).

  briana got the "groom's identity" news this past week.

  I have to set up my little story before I give you the details of the generosity I bestowed upon my dear lovable friend........

  Briana(ex jw), is going to a wedding next Aug with her boy friend Nick. The wedding she is going to is Nick's cousin(groom), who she used to date(short period of time). Briana got the "groom's identity" news this past week. Devastated about this somewhat embarrassing event, Briana will still hang on Nick's arm with her held up high. With all of this in mind Briana needed a dress, not just your everyday dress but a fabulous dress. Well we found one, the perfect Audrey Hepburn classic little black dress. It costs $92.00 too much for Briana, a single working mother, not to mention college student at the University of Milwaukee. Well we all came up with an idea(not I) to have a fake Bachelorette Party, and raise money at Summer fest(huge festival with National Bands). I was driving down with 6 free tickets (I got from a Restaurant owner that knows me) for my friends and I.

  Well I got the call with the news and a "Congratulations your getting Married", I was the honorary Bride for the evening. I had to wear a Veil, a T-Shirt that says "Suck 4 a Buck" and the shirt has pinned candy all over it, beads, a flashing pin. I agreed to do it, because she is one of my very best friends, and I would do anything for her. Plus, I think I was the only one who could pull it off. So, I shamefully put this outfit on, I was just glad I had shoes to match.

  Off to Summer fest/Downtown bars.....I had women making out with me, men pick me up twirl me around, men strip for me(holding my head down screaming). Guys pulling beads/candy with their teeth(doing it to Briana too). It was all pretty funny, and somewhat humiliating. Well we raised $91.00 that night. Enough to pay for the dress. I never had so much fun, it was like back in high school yet going to the bars legally.

  Thank god it was over, yet I would do it again for her....or maybe just buy the dress.

  That's right wearing my Cubs shirt...they Played the Brewers that weekend. I got so many "Boos" and "High five's" that day!

  Ahhh taking a nap in the Mall, getting home at 5 am is hard work.....

  So, what would you do for friends??????

  Question About Eyeglasses

  my wife just spent $900 on 4 pair of eyeglasses.

  is it just me, or is that waaaaaay too much money?

  i don't wear glasses anymore (laser surgery), but isn't this too much?

  I thought I was going to die, its like one minute you are fine next minute you are screaming for someone to kill you. I remember after the medication kicked the Doctor kind of laughed at me, I may have said a few choice words to explain my pain.

  Well that might explain your brother's head trauma. However, there is no excuse for you girl! The Cubs .... COME ON. Unless you live in Wrigleyville/Lakeview and go to the games (purely for the beer garden experience), right now Cubs fans should be ashamed. Like the thread that asks whether people are embarrassed to say they use to be JWs, Cubs fans are soon going to be asked that question.

  Pretty funny.....Yes I do get teased alot because I am a Cubs fan. Its ok, I am used to the losing. I love the game and the sport. Plus, I do go to the games(when I can) and watch them. I think my Grandfather(may he rest in peace) would be proud to know his Grand daughter is following in the tradition of losing every season and hoping for next year. Am I embarrassed? Nope not at all, I am proud to be on my losing team!

  Short note...Someone has to route for them..right?

  How do you stop hating?

  i'm finding it very difficult not to hate those still in.. my wife says i hate the religion but shouldn't hate the individuals.. i think she's correct but it's getting more and more difficult not to show my feelings of anger and hatred.. the thing is i was one of them for 30 years so i should have more patience, respect and sympathy.. i think they fall into two camps.

  1 deluded.

  I have never said I hated anyone. I hate stupidity, and that exactly what the religion is all about.

  Stupidity: for letting someone/religion take over my life, making my life long decisions

  Stupidity: for letting someone/religion decide my medical attention and needs

  Stupidity: for not asking questions, or seeking the truth for myself

  Stupidity: for not going with my intuitions or gut feelings

  Stupidity: for allowing yourself to be hurt over and over again

  Stupidity: for letting someone tell you its your fault for not screaming as you get raped

  Stupidity: thinking your uncle is "ok" because he goes to the meetings and out in service after molesting your cousins

  Stupidity: for lying to myself

  I don't hate a person. I hate their "Stupidity". Ignorance is keeping us from doing what is right.
