  You are cracking me up, over here!That first post of yours was right on the money! I've spotted that sort of thing numerous times and, quite frankly, I pretty much ignore it if it is so dificult to decipher. Good deal on insisting that your children do not write/speak that way.

  Our 2nd Christmas....

  so , this is our 2nd christmas as a family out of the " troof " .

  sometimes it feels great and sometimes i get so anxious.

  after being involved with jw's for 20+ years we are out and all of our daughters who were raised as jws are out too.

  The coldness of Watchtowerism thread

  when my dad died on november 9th none of my jw family turned to comfort my mother, no phone calls no cards no words of comfort.

  its over a month now and still they havent made any contact.

  it doesnt really matter since they are all jws on my moms side but dads side of the family are catholic so they were all there to give the strength needed to cope.

  I was raped when I was eighteen years old. The "loving shepherds" told me that I deserved having been raped because I had been rebellious toward my parents. What Christian love, huh?

  The Holidays are not bothering me at all! I love celebrating them and I really enjoy singing the Christmas carols much more than I enjoyed singing the Kingdumb Melodies.

  (((((((Billygoat))))))) Thank you for sharing your story with us.I could relate to many things you experienced as a young JW. Like you, I was hurt deeply by my father and I also rebelled in a big way, as a young adult. Today, I too, believe in a loving, compassionate God and Jesus Christ and I have learned about grace...which we were never taught as JWs.

  i have been reading the threads for about a year now and thought its time to post my story.

  i cant remember much up until i was ten except the usual no birthdays, no worldly friends or bad associates.

  then it was a series of arguments of why i didnt what to go to church.

  Does Your JW Family Act Like This?

  well, it is district convention time again.

  my mother is an active jw and faithfully attends these long, brainwashing sessions.

  she and i have fairly close contact and, over the past few years, i have noticed a definite pattern in her behavior after she attends the district conventions.

  Thanks for your replies, everyone.It is interesting to note the various behaviors of your JW families. Also, I noticed that a few people have observed this same or a similar pattern in their JW relatives (which I described in my initial post). It is nice to know that I am not the only one to pick up on this. Very telling interesting, no?
