1970 +/- A woman my mom had studied with. The JC which included my dad went over to her home where they "caught her" with her boyfriend. She excused herself, went into the bathroom took pills and crawled into the bathtub and ran water. They found her and took her to Emergency. She lived. She was DF'd. i don't know what happened to her later.

List of family/friends lost to the Watchtower cult? (suicides)
by hubert inafter reading about puternuts (ari) suicide, and also reading about sabine and js losing their daughter to this cult, i think it would be a fitting memorial, so to speak, to write a list of all the people we know who died because of this cult.
i also know that cruzanheart lost her dad to it, too.
i'm sure there are many here that can make a list of suicides brought on by the shunning/threatening policies of the watchtower cult.

James Souder, my ex bro-in-law. about 38 years old. Used a shotgun. He couldn't live up to his still-active wife's expectations as a husband after 16 or 17 years of marriage. He was found by his 15 year old son.

The pressure cooker does cook things much faster. I am aware of soaking overnight then tossing the water. I didn't do that. Hence the wakame - the enzimes help break down the tough bean fibers that don't digest well, hence the fartage. No fartage last night!
(FYI, I have a 6 qt Fagor brand)
First I pressure cooked the smoked pork hocks (2) for an hour - coulda been a half-hour but I lost track :)~ . Took them out to cool and pull the meat off. Then I threw the beans in the water with seaweed, onion and 4 chipotle chilis (too many! Just a little too spicy for my taste) and some salt and pressure cooked for 40 min. Then I tossed in 2 cans of diced tomatoes and more water and ham and pressure cooked another 30 minutes. Voila! Beanz! In reality it could all have been tossed in together and the hocks fished out after the fact.
It was really good too. And I have 3 quarts in the freezer for future meals.
STICK SALAD: rabbit food. Carrot stix, celery stix, radishes.

Onion, 2 cans diced tomatos, 4 chipotle chilis, some wakame seaweed (to help break down the been fiber - reduces fartage) and salt.
Southern corn bread and stick salad and YUM!

Ok Who would I want to date on this forum?
By his curmudeon meter, I'd say Seven006 is about 102 years old.
Prophecor I'd date at about 32 going on 16.
Lola28, a fluffy 25.
KLS, a furry but fine 29.
Almost Athiest is still too serious. His serious meter dates him at about 27 going on 50.
Ballistic has the spatula test going for him. When he's done, flip him over!
Blondie is timeless.

Anyone else in PUTERNUT's shoes? Despairing? COME TO US!
by AlmostAtheist inhey guys,.

((( BillyGoat ))) I completely understand your reasoning. He lost his ability to do his art/jewelry. From what I could tell from other posts. I'm wondering if it was MS or some other disease that wrecked his eyesight. Heck my eyes are going... got bi-focals a year ago and they aren't enough anymore!
When I took those pills and I was on my way to the hospital in the back of the ambulance I was thinking that even though I had changed my mind about dying that I could still die. Ya know, I was at peace with that possibility. As it turns out, if I hadn't gone to the hospital, it probably would have been the tylenol that would have killed me - a slow painful death due to liver failure.
It's just that I hate to see someone leave like that. Without trying to work out the possibilities. Then, again, he may have thought he worked them out and didn't see any.

In Memory of Puternut
by Nosferatu inafter reading the news about puternut, i decided to compile some of his posts into one, so we can all share in his memory.
there are many ups and downs listed below, but i ended it off with a post he made to all of us who helped him during his difficult times.
puternut is starting his life over, because i had nothing left, and needed to move on.

Most of the time, the person who commits suicide is killing the wrong person. i've heard it said by shrinks that when a person advances from thoughts of suicide to thoughts of homocide, they are making progress in the right direction (although this is no endorsement to kill anyone).
Suicide is one of those tabu subjects that no one wants to broach. Thank you AA for broaching it.
I'm here for support too. I've been there. experienced that. ended up taking a trip to the hospital in 2001 after taking an OD of tylenol3's because of severe (non-JW related) physical and emotional pain. I attempted russian roulette (and won!) when I was 25 and stuck in a horrible physically abusive marriage to that "good jw man" I married at 18. I left him 8 months later.
Dave I'll PM you my email and phone number. With discretion youj are welcome to give it out.
Hugs and love to you ALL

Thank you NN for posting this. The Maui thread might have caught my eye, but this certainly did.
I feel so sad for him. What a waste. He was definitely killing the wrong person!
