Witnesses NEW attitude toward Marijuana!!!
by gumby inmost of us remember the society's viewpoint of using marijuana.
countless of articles condemed the drug saying it was mind altering and allowed a place for the demons.. articles were abundant concerning the greek word "pharmakia"..or druggery and included marijuana as being a part of that.
but alas!

Actually, I'm an Oregon Medical Marijuana Patient. I'm grateful with all the BS happening in California and Washington State with local authorities and the DEA, that Oregon is pretty reasonable... It also has some of the most liberal defined laws, with plant numbers and posession amounts, than any other state (that has plant and posession limits). So far, fewer hassles that I'm aware of.
I use it for pain and spasms from FibroMyalgia (a pain in the arse and everywhere else). It reduces the pain considerably and I can now get a decent night's sleep and awake refreshed. The side effects of using marijuana are minimal. The worst are those from smoking it, part of the nature of smoking in general. I use a vaporizer which only emits a few chemicals, vs. 400+ chemicals emitted when smoked. I also use my homemade elixer - an MJ tincture with the alcohol removed and honey and vanilla added for synergy; and heat activated MJ capsules combined with valerian cinnamon and lecithin.
And yes, I grow my own. With the laws here, there is almost no other way to get my meds, except find a grower, which are very rare. Besides, it's fun! They're awesome plants.
Then there's bubble hash.... but that's another story.

Are you like Persephone of the Greek mythology who goes to hades every winter and comes out every spring? Forums are a winter activity for you?
Greendawn, are you trying to suggest that JWD is hell?

IS THERE A SAFE/EFFECTIVE WAY?
by Terry innow that i'm single again i face the same problem that many baby boomers face: how in the world do you meet somebody??.
i don't go to bars.. i don't like smokers.. i am not nutty enough to be attracted to young and dumb.. crazy music isn't my cup o' tea.. i like conversation with at least some minimal content.. online dating service seem outrageously weird to me.. what's a poor lad to do?.
any reccomendations?

I just want a normal person. Is there any such thing as NORMAL anymore?
Sadly, Terry, "Normal" is only a setting on your washing machine....
However, I agree with Franny.
Good luck and don't take it too seriously. More fun that way!

FOR YOUR RETIREMENT:
----------
If you had purchased $1000.00
of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With Enron, you would have had $16.50
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With WorldCom, you would have had less than $5.00 left.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of Beer one year ago,
drank all the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum
recycling REFUND, you would have had $214.00.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Based on the above,
current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.
It's called the 401 Keg Plan -

My bed is too soft... how do I make it more stiff?
by Elsewhere in.
about a year ago i purchased a nice new sealy posturepedic bed, but i'm afraid that i got a model that was too soft.
i'm starting to wake up with backaches that go away shortly after i get up and start moving around.. are there any products out there that i can use to make the be more stiff, like what you would find at a hotel?

Memory foam tends to make the bed softer....
Our mattress is very firm, and too much for my pain points from FMS. But Kev loves it! I got a 2-1/2 inch memory foam topper and it's great for me, but too soft for him.
I think we need a sleep-number bed....
