Hallelujah - literally praise Jah( Jehovah)
Mormons Sda, many other religions know this name, jws do not have a copyright on it.
the song is 'days of elijah,' and the bit i'm referring to is about half way through, as they sing, "there is no god like jehovah":.

i popped into the supermarket for a few things after work today and found myself walking up an aisle alongside a couple who used to be in my tuesday group.
i see them reasonably often and always say hello much to their obvious annoyance.
i noticed that ian was sporting a shaggy beard.
this happened about 6 months ago, didn't really have an opportunity to post about it (been busy), but they still haven't given back his password for the phone hook-up.
they say that this is direction from the "branch office".
i think it's complete bs, the real reason why they are doing this is to punish me & my family because i am basically a ghost when it comes to meetings & any type of activity.

so, i have recently been delving in buddhism and i must say it all makes sense!
like, the philosophies and ideas are what i've always believed but could never put a name to.
for example, they don't believe in god, they teach acceptance of all faiths, that peace can be achieved - not by changing other people - but by changing yourself, that everyone has goodness in themselves, that happiness can be gained internally (not externally as a gift from god), and that life is temporary so we should enjoy it!
Just about everyday someone on my Facebook posts something about Jesus. Press Like and comment Amen if Jesus is your Savior I don't want to discourage anyone from believing- it was my life for so long. But I refuse to even "like" the Jesus posts. I just can't. What it really does is make me remember a time when I was blissfully ignorant and happy in my belief that G'd would just fix everything , like magic. ( listen to Sarah Silverman , Jesus is magic) This includes other religions too, including Buddhism. I just can't get that blissful peaceful stupid feeling, the one that says - just believe and G'd will fix it all.
Maybe this is why G'd told Adam and Eve to not eat from the tree. Knowledge is a powerful thing and it seems there is no way back to blissful peace.
a friend of mine is staying at a hotel next to one of the big convention sites this weekend.
yesterday she tells me one of the hotels had to be evacuated and the fire brigade called when the fire alarm went off.. it turned out to be a bunch of jw kids having a prank.
she had been speaking to the hotel manager who told her that this happens every year and only when the jw's come to stay!.
so i was fooled by the witnesses.
what can i learn from that?
not to accept things at face value but to seek out opinion and different view points.. hence my question " do you believe man landed on the moon?.
You won't get an argument from me on that Viviane. May I suggest your outspoken, which I find very endearing.
now your just arse kissing.

I was so embarrassed for JWN when I saw the title of this thread. Can't you peddle this nonsense someplace else?
i was in elmwood congregation, in early 70's i have reason to believe there was ritual abuse going on while i was there.
anybody have any incite?
I have to tell you that most experts discount almost completely satanic ritual abuse. I was a youngish adult during the 80'-90's when it was quite a thing and saw psychiatry using it as a legitimate diagnoses and police actually thinking it was real. It has almost always been discounted. I do believe some people are crazy enough engage in this behavior but it was mostly a phase that the country went through and psychiatry went through.
btw, you have three threads about this.
