Amazing your idears seem normal and fair to me. When I was invited to go to the memorial I asked my pastor to come along and he did. Ive written about it here. I wonder how many jws that may want to visit another church would be escorted by there elder, as you always put it so well, Amazing

by Amazing injustice #21 analysis of jw justice .
many of you are relatively new to this board and may have missed much of my justice series, and the introduction to its purpose.
this seems like a good time to refresh this series for your benefit, and to add some additional thoughts:.

To: Rev B / Trinity vs Salvation
by Amazing inhi rev b: you stated on my other thread that belief in the trinity is necessary for salvation in christendom.
not so.. i can go into almost any church and say that i am christian, believe in jesus christ as my personal savior, and will be accepted as such, without any comment or need to discuss the trinity.
i can even say that i don't accept the trinity, or literal hellfire, etc., and will still be accepted.. where the difference is, if i try to join that specific church as an official member with voting rights on church business, or hold an office of deacon, elder, or pastor, then a christian church will often require acceptance of the trinity for membership ... but not for salvation.

Being an Adventist I would like to comment. Adventists are for the most part Trinitarian but a group within the church are Arian [the same beleif as the witnesses only Jehovah is truely God] In order to join the church one would have to agree to the trinity but then if that person changed there mind they wouldnt be disfellowshipped I know of elders and many members who have this Arian beleif. Of course the hell beleif doesnt exist in the church the beleif is the same as the witnesses on that. I would personly like to see a more inclusive type of doctrinal statement with a simple acceptance of Jesus and the gospel as the only requirement for church membership.

And now i know why.
Adam was walking around the Garden of Eden feeling very lonely, So God asked Adam, 'Whats wrong with you?'' Adam said he didn't have anyone to talk to. God said he was going to give him a companion and it would be a woman. He said, '' This person will cook for you and wash your clothes. She will always agree with every decision you make. She will bear your children and never ask you to get up in the middle of the night to take care of them. She will not nag you and will always be the first to admit she was wrong when you've had a disagreement. She will never have a headache, and will freely give you love love and compassion whenever needed.'' Adam asked God, ''What will a woman like this cost?'' God said, ''An arm and a leg.'' Adam said, ''What can I get for just a rib?'' The rest is history.Barry

divining rods work
by zerubberballz init's a funny ol' world.
a month ago i was mucking about with some thick fencing wire and i suddenly got the idea to bend a couple of pieces into a set of divining rods like i've seen old nutters doing on tv.
so i cut two sections of wire about 2' long and bent the ends 4" at 90 degrees to form old fashioned diving rods (twitching sticks are made of yew or hickory or something .. don't know what, if anything aboriginies used).

Ive tried that myself two peices of wire bent at 90 degrees I just walked around the house certain areas they would swing inwards or outwards I dont know why other people can do it and it doesnt work. I couldnt beleive it myself at first the pull on the wires is strong at times if you dont beleive me try it.

Seventh Day Adventist Funeral
by Judith ini attended a seventh day adventist funeral today.
she was a really nice person that i had worked with some years ago.
she was kind to everyone, never a bad word about anyone, always willing to help, and didn't toss her religion down your throat.

Dear Judith,
Within Adventism there is two distinct groups one is Traditional Adventism the other Evangelical Adventism and my convictions are with Evangelical Adventism the main doctrine within this group is the acceptance of the reformation doctrine of 'Righteousness by faith'. Other differences between the groupes exist too. If you were to look at Adventism im sure they would make you welcome and I would recommend a gosple orented church. 'Good News Unlimited' could do this for you. Traditional Adventism is more cultic and i wouldnt recommend them. In Adventism you wont have the problems you would have in the JWs Shunning or problems with going to other churches or problems if you dought something and the type of horror stories you see on this board. But take your time meet with the Adventists an eg on Saturday lesson study you might feel comfortable with them and you are free to ask any questions in the lesson study. They have classes for all age groups at this time. Also before you decide on anything go to other denominations and chech them out, you said you were once a baptist when you were younger I know some good Baptist people and they have a bible study too.
Ill be praying for you Barry -

Aussie Ex-Dubs - Will You Be Voting Today?
by Stephanus ini realise some still retain a bit of a superstitious fear in certain areas where watchtower dogma has been drummed into you such as birthdays and christmas.
how do you feel about voting today?
especially in light of the fact that here in oz voting is compulsory and that doing so would demonstrate "subjection to the superior authorities" (rom.
