Arthur Ive heard that story about people speaking in tongues in SDA circles beleive it or not. That was a while back though.
Since that time SDAs have had joint meatings with tongue speakers and many SDAs around the world go to penticostal meatings for the experiance. I remember in Tumut NSW when the penticostals opened their new church they invited the SDA church members to come to the opening. I went with many other SDA church members and some of the more conservative SDAs thought the devil would jump out and get them when a penticostal started up speaking in tongues. I could see it on there faces. The bloke started speaking in tongues was waiving his arms in the air and swinging backward on his chair as he spoke.

I was right here on JWD in chat when they told me to turn on the TV set. I couldnt stop shaking for hours and thought there might even be terrorists in planes over Canberra because Canberra is the capitol of Australia.

Where Else Would I Go? The LONG Answer
by jwfacts inthe following is an article i have just posted at http://jwfacts.com/index_files/where.htm i have collected the information from a number of discussions on jwd.
i welcome any comments and suggestions.
?in the long run it is far more dangerous to adhere to illusion than to face what the actual fact is?

Gday JW facts, Good work I agree with you . I just wan to add that type of religion we decide on and the church we go to is our choice and our choice only. I see religion as a big supermarket out there and we all have freedom to pick the product we want. There is also what I would call the black market out there where some religionists promote fear doom if we dont buy there products. these organisations should be delisted as businesses by the people who delist businesses. Cant think of there name is it Atsic or something. Barry

by barry inmy dad is her in canberra staying with us and tonight i mentioned about how i get on jwd and how this site works.. he told me a great storey tonight about some sdas collecting for a charity over in wagga nsw where he onced lived.. anyway this bloke was going door to door trying to get donations he had a bag just like jws carry.
the going was hard people didnt want to even talk to him and being a good salesperson as he was in his regular job he couldnt understand the hostility.
anyway he decided he would tackle this problem head on at the very next door.

Anyway he decided he would tackle this problem head on at the very next door. The next door a lady opened the door and before she could get a word out he said, 'Im collecting for charity and Im not a Jehovahs witness' At that the somewhat startled householder replied 'Well Iam a Jehovahs witness.' It just so happened he picked the wrong house.

by misspeaches ini sent my mum an e-mail the other day to let her know about steve irwin's tragic accident.
this morning i got her reply:he will thrive in the new system when he will be able to get up close and personal with all wild creatures without fear.

But what if they're right............still the Truth?
by ScoobySnax inthis will probably apply to few here, but to me it'll always be that way.
it's the what if syndrome maybe, but it's always there.
i still think that as a core belief system the jw's have it right, even if their delivery isn't always right.

Schooby, The doctrine where Jesus came down and inspected all the churches in 1914 is based on the day year rule and the historicist method of interpretation of the bible. The Adventists have a similar doctrine its called the investigative judgement doctrine in 1844 .
Both doctrines take liberties with the interpretation of scripture and methods scholars would not support. Im an SDA myself and dont beleive such these doctrines. I make it well known in my own church these interpretations are rubbish and not supported by scripture.
Schooby some adventist are brainwashed just like you its not uncommon.

by jwfacts ini am interested in finding out if christianity still teaches a burning hell.
it is my understanding that they are starting to drop this teaching as just a figurative place.
is that true?.

Aussies/Canadians of JWD most laid back~
by FlyingHighNow ini was thinking today, i've been here at jwd for nearly three years now.
i've observed that our aussie members are the most laid back members on the board here.they don't take their country, their politics or anything too seriously really.
people who are from europe tend to be more laid back than the brits and americans.

The Gentiles Times Reconsidered--Again but this Time By Using the Bible
by thirdwitness inthink about this: if seven times mean only 7 years then daniel could have simply said 7 years.
why does daniel specifically use the word 'times' rather than years?
as we have already shown daniel used the word for 7 times instead of 7 years.

Thirdwitness, Christ accepted worship.
If its not against youre churches rules buy a hynmbook from any denomination and see how often gods name Jehovah is is mentioned.
It doesnt matter which denomination you get the hynmbook off because many hymns are used by all churches. Dont reply to this post until you do what ive suggested.
