JW`s Lie about Christendom hiding the Name Jehovah.or its equivalent Yahweh
by smiddy injehovahs witnesses have been outspoken over the years/decades that christendom have been hiding or obscuring or even eliminating gods name jehovah from the general public.. how true is that statement .?.
1. it was a catholic monk of the 13th century that first coined the name jehovah in the english language.. 2.the roman catholic douay version of the bible does have the name jehovah in it.
about the 16th century.

Just look at a hymn book from christendom and you will find many hymns with the name Jehovah in the title or content of the hymn.

This would leave a lot of the older brothers spinning in their graves, unconsciously of course.

Watchtower teaches that Jesus dying on the stake is no longer certain
by Listener inthe watchtower has held for many years that jesus died on a stake and held strongly to this teaching.
w 1951 3/15 the above agrees with the new world translation of the christian greek scriptures in its appendix, page 769, in saying that the instrument upon which jesus was nailed was a stake without a crossbeam, and not the religiously represented “cross”; and that the greek word used for that instrument in ancient time meant a “stake” and not the conventional religious cross.
they are no longer certain on this point.

I think I am correct in this but I think in the list of JW beliefs The rejection of the cross in favour of the stake is one in the first five beliefs . It's strange to list such an insignificant and unproven belief in the first few.
Next they will be saying the nicean creed just to cover themselves.

Why does this forum tolerate Cold steele and his mormonism beliefs ? Who`s next ?
by smiddy ini thought this forum was for people who were ex jw`s and pro jw`s and the like to debate ,discuss and reasonably talk about our differences ,and sometimes drift off into politics world events and whatever.. however over a period of time i have come across cold steel `s many posts which are nothing more than promoting his mormon religions point of view./beliefs what has that got to do with jehovahs witnesses and the concerns many have with the jw religion.?.
it seems to me he is using this forum to promote his religion and is getting away with it over a long period of time.. how long before other cult religions see this as a springboard for promoting their own religion such as .
sda`s ,christian scientists , christadelphians ,beroean bible students ,etc.etc.. where will it end if he is able to keep doing this ?.

It can be profitable to explore different beliefs some may take such beliefs on board on the other hand when we do explore them it just may be something we don't like but have never thought of before. I came to this site over 15 years ago SDA my kids were baptised catholic and now we are Anglican and never had a problem.

"Child abuse is abhorrent to us."

australian cardinal george pell: "they are false.
the whole idea of sexual abuse is abhorrent to me.".

I read an article by Andrew Bolt who said the charges against Pell are false. The reason he gave is that Pell was out of the country at the time. The alleged offences were about 50 years old and people sometimes over that period get things confused. I have no side in this and am happy to let the chips settle where they fall.

by silentbuddha inso in england they report a "white clean-shaven man" mowed down worshippers at a mosque.
why do they never make such detailed descriptions when muslims do the same?.
i hope this event isn't a bad turning point.

Simon, do you know any actual Muslims? I mean, really know, not just as casual acquaintances. If you don't you should get to know some, maybe invite a few round to dinner? You might have a good time.
I have a muslim friend I have known for years he was MOC at my wedding. He is great company and fits in with our group well.
This muslim friend also has very illiberal views as do most muslims he believes Saudi Arabia is doing Gods work by chopping hands and feet off, execution by beheading for apostasy etc. I believe it is logical that when a muslim crosses a border into a western country their opinions don't necessarily change. We know what muslims think by the extensive research in the muslim world and in the west.
Laika I'm sure you know these facts while one can be friendly with muslims we must accept the majority do have very illiberal views.
