  My Phone Conversation With Watchtower on Tsunami Disaster!

  my telephone conversation with the watchtower society, was a sincere attempt to find out what active role the watchtower is taking to help the tsunami victims.

  thursday dec. 30, 2004 / approx.

  The fact is the WT doesnt have much in the way of infrastructure and would have to hand there money over to other organisations. So it would appear they are only going to help there own church people.

  I remember a story a few years ago about a JW missionary in New Guinea who broke his arm. He had to take an SDA Church plane to get medical attention and thats OK but the thing that made news with some SDA church officials was his rudeness to the point of not even thanking the pilot or anyone else for the assistance he received at no cost to himself. My Dad is an SDA elder thats how I found out. Not a good witness for his church.

  here in aussie there was the cricket against pakistan the sydney to hobart yacht race.

  we spent the day on the coast with my parents and went to the rsl club for a nice meal.

  you all wont beleive this but its snowing in the mountains not far from here.

  I hve been wondering if you have it over there , now I know you dont.

  Boxing day as you know is the day after xmas but traditionally it is the day when the rich would box up the presents they didnt need or want and give them to the poor. These days it is a day just an excuse to have another day off and for sport. Barry

  Do you actually have a boxing day in the States or what do you call the holiday after xmas when I wrote this I wasnt sure what you have over there and what do you call it . I know the poms have boxing day.

  the report below serves as an excellent example of the shallow understanding that people in general have regarding the so-called "star of bethlehem".

  notice that the "star" is held in awe ... some sort of an object that satan himself caused to glow in the dark in order to cause the premature death of jesus.

  satan's worst nightmare is jesus, was back then, and still is.

  Bad things happen at birthdays too dont they, you see the logic is the same.

  My bible says the visitors from the east were warned by God in a dream not to go back to Herod. Matthew 2.12 Does that mean that the wise men had a relationship with God. I dont know. I know the WT also has different view about the wise men.

  My bible still says nothing about who put the star there. Barry

  is it true what we're hearing?

  it's been reported to us that two elders burst in to a sda church service about a month ago seeking to trap a witness man there.

  the man, a witness for 14 years, had become disillusioned with the affairs of the wts in australia after viewing the "sunday" program on channel nine which exposed the cover-up of paedophilia in the witness movement.

  Walter Rea wrote the White lie but he was only a small fish.

  In Crisis of Conscience page 5 it there talks about Desmond Ford an SDA professor who was defrocked for taking issue with the Adventist teaching of 1844. If you have a copy look it up. Notice Des was removed from his teaching post but he was not disfellowshiped and he continues to speak in Adventist circles. The fact is we love our Apostates and they remain members of our church and many of us happen to agree with them including myself. Actually SDAs no longer disfellowship the most they will do is ask you to leave if you were to be disruptive.

  The Adventists in contact with the ex JW person may agree with Des too as there are many groups in the Adventist community who have differing views.

  And the fires of hell, yes SDAs do beleive in hellfire check with youre SDA friends. They just dont beleive the fires of hell are forever. Barry

  Im SDA but I havent read about that one in the media yet . must have missed it.

  I would of thought SDAs and JWs get on allright. Quite a few years ago I was asked to go to the memorial so I asked my SDA minister did he want to come along. Anyway he decided to come along at the last minute. Anyhow he got on well with the elders and to my suprise he knew them all very well. Barry

  i'm fairly new here (more of a lurker than a poster) .

  my mom-in-law (a jw for 50+ years) was just on the phone with an old childhood friend of hers (a baptist and perfectly content with her religion) that lives down south and she told her that "god doesn't want you to have a christmas tree...you should know that by now.

  " grrrrrrrrrrr......i just wanted to slap her.. how dare she try and ruin someone else's holidays spewing her poison!
