I don't have any contact with JWs myself but the saturday after the testimony of Geof Jackson my street was crawling with JWs going door to door. I had never seen so many cars full of JWs in one place. It seemed to me they were getting support in numbers. We were going out and missed talking to them. -

The people that are stopped at sea are not migrants they are people attempting to enter Australia illegally and many thousands of these people have drowned at sea. Since they have been stopped none have drowned.
Australia does accept genuine refugees from all over the world. We are very proud of our assistance to people in need.
That sign is not fair dinkum

Women going topless in NYC.
by Fisherman inwithin the past couple of days, women in nyc are going around topless in public.
i read in a news article, that in new york city, there are no laws against women going topless in public.the article says that family people are getting offended and they want to stop topless women in public.
in europe women show their breasts on on tv, the beach, and breast feeding in public.

The problem with holding religions to account for their crimes.
by smiddy inlately we have seen governments from all parts of the western word challenge religious institutions on a variety of issues .
such as tax status , charitable status , child sex abuse by religious institutions , etc.etc.. just how effective these investigations are or will be only time will tell.. their are many factors that will influence the outcome.. politicians make up the government , human beings make up the politicians , and the politicians have their own personal beliefs .
and the electorates these politicians represent are made up of people with their own religious preferences ,and the politicians need to keep in favour of their electorate to remain in office.. and lobbyists whether religious or otherwise do influence outcomes .an elected politician wants to hold onto his seat , his job , his income.. the australian royal commission into institutions of child sexual abuse gives me hope that these concerns will be addressed .. i can only hope so , not just for the jehovah`s witness children who have been abused , but for all children who have been abused ,by all institutions secular and religious .. smiddy.

The JWs don't vote so there will be no votes lost there. If I was a catholic I would want the sexual offenders dealt with -

Did Geoffrey Jackson Commit Perjury, or Just "Spiritual Warfare"?
by The Searcher inmr. jackson was pressured by angus stewart to answer if the org condoned corporal punishment, to which he openly stated that the org does not condone corporal punishment for j.w.
children.
this "fact" has never been revealed in the org's literature, in fact, this article which was published under geoffrey jackson's supervision, by definition demonstrates the org's approval of corporal punishment for j.w.

When a person swears on the bible in Australian law and that person does not tell the truth the understanding is that the punishments of the last judgement will come on that person.
That was explained to me by a lawyer

Anthony Morris III... Did he really serve in Vietnam? Something doesn't quite add up...
by Calebs Airplane inborn in 1950, he apparently became a regular pioneer in 1971.. but wait.... let's just say that he enlisted (or was drafted) in 1968 at age 18.... depending on the branch of service, he would have to complete anywhere from 2 to 4 years of service.
yes, duty in hot combat zones was usually limited to 6-months at a time but you still had to serve a total of 2 to 4 years depending on the branch of service.
assuming he only served 2 years, he would have been 20 years old and discharged by 1970.... how did he get witnessed to, complete a book study, become an unbaptized publisher, get baptized and then become a regular pioneer in less than year???.

I thought the JWs weren't allowed in the military and If they were they would keep it under wraps to not offend anyone -

JW to SDA anyone do it ?
by Introvert 2 ina couple friends pointed me to some info on the sabbath and i just plain like it, being the workaholic i am it's a lifesaver for me and gives me the motivation to be more balanced about my business and work schedule.
so from there i looked into the adventists and found a hall near my place and went last week.
i honestly enjoyed myself and the meeting time is not disruptive and the people were great and pretty laid back.

Ministers of other churches do occasionally take the divine service at SDA churches.
From the country church I recall an Anglican also the bible society used to send ministers to preach once a year that could be one from any denomination but not catholic. Growing up a good adventist boy I went to Anglican scripture every week.
Wing Commander I would admit some of the literature is creepy and much of it is conspiracy theories.
It is not supported by the Doctors of the church.

Calebinfloroda, Ive heard SDAs that believe like that I think its called British Israelites or something similar but Ive never met anyone that believes it.
WingCommander the SDAs do mix with other churches they have in Australia the 'Womens day of prayer' where women from every denomination gather together I don't know what they do maybe they just pray. The womens day of prayer is held in a different denomination every year. Ive been to many meetings in other churches that were advertised in the SDA church.
As I said before there are 700 independent ministries that many teach against the official SDA church in doctrine and are supported financially by ordinary members.
