you may wonder why particularly as many of us were in the wts and did not ignore the comprehensive mass of proof against the claims and teachings made.

Hi Shauna,
I just reread your post and my experience and
background is very similar to yours. I became
a JW due to wifes' influence and family harmony,
rather than stick up for my own "independent"
thinking. When she told me to move out I was
devastated and it took over a year and serious
counseling from a professional therapist to
realize she had her "version" of "the truth"
and it was OK for me to have my "truth.

Then a JW friend said search the net for information.
WOW. What a relief!!!! I realize that I never
again will have "the truth" but will enjoy the
life long search for it and really enjoy the love
of new friends and the help they provide.

May my surplus cover your deficiency and your
surplus bail me out when down. The greatest command
is Love but it takes courage, courage and more
courage to stick ones neck out but as you are
finding out the reward is worth it.

hi people.

i am a df'd person hoping to return to the fold.

i am not critical of the decision to df me nor of the loving organization i believe to be in the palm of jesus hand.. i would find it most encouraging to hear from others who feel the same and would like to "hold hands" on the way back.. this board is hailed as a supportive respectful place so if you do not fit this description may i ask you to move on and not hinder the participants here in following their god given right to pursue their goal.

Hi Curly,
I enjoyed your input. We should award two points to Wendy for
starting the "Legal" issue of two DF assoc. I do not want to speak for her but I can see both the sublte humor in her question and
real reason to seriously consider the matter. All this points up
to what I feel is part of the problem, tooooo many rules!!!
KISS = Keep it simple stupid. The WT keeps "simplyfing" - NOT.

I try to remember the greatest command "Love". I have spent many
hours trying to find "The Truth" and the deeper I dig the more
confused I get. Sometimes it feels better to step back catch a
fresh breath of air and smell those flowers and remember to laugh
at it all, with love for myself, you and everyone else. I have very
much serious work to do in all those areas, but that is what the
truth is beginning to shape up to me. The truth is a search, lifelong
at that, and I feel you are very observant when you said each of us
has our own truth. The hard part for me is to learn to live with
the fact not everyone else has "My Truth". Rats, I hate that part.
Thanks for your articulate post and look forward to hearing from you
and the others searchers.

now we all know for you who have attended meetings at the kingdom hall and heard speakers from the platform give us bible verses and telling us that the ruler of this world is the devil of which i firmly believe due to the fact that this world is completely warped.. .

doesn't it strike you funny to see that satan who makes the rules for his system can't keep them and tries to manipulate rules and regulations always in his favor and that of his seed.. .

#1 example- did you know that according to the bible that satan's agents keep transforming themselves into agents of light.

Hi Spec,
I was shocked to read in the WT Insight book under the heading
of "evil" to discover its source. Even quotes a scrpitual proof.
My closest JW assoc, a 10 yr Bethelite was totally unaware also.

After tons of research maybe you could help me with a troubling question about the "organization"? When Isreal was split into
two kingdoms, even warring with each other, which one represented
the "organization"? Follow up question: who represented the
organization between 70AD and 1874AD, which according to CT Russell
marked the return/presence of Christ? see Studies in the Scriptures
by CT Russell.

What is "The" truth, what is "The Truth" and what is truth? As the
"lite" keeps getting brighter then we/they/whomever must be getting
closer to the truth. If that is so then we do not have the complete truth yet. If it is not complete then how can it be the truth.

Forbes ASAP magazine Big Issue V of September 2, 2000 was devoted to
the topic "What is True? This was very challenging to read and then
comprehend for me. Several articles I had to read more than once to
to even begin to understand "Truth". From a scientic method based in
logic and inductive reasoning it is quite possible to separate the
chaff from fact.

Also by searching on the web for "rhetoric fallacy faq" there is a
wealth of information on time tested logical methods to try to
determine what is true and what is a "sales pitch". You will have to
think but isn't that what we were designed to do? Enjoy the adventure

learned that when the student is ready the teacher appears.

Thanks for the personal insight. Now you can tell your
superhero you talked to the Battman. That is not a typo
as I am in the battery business. I live in South Florida
and sell batteries to clients in the Caribbean Basin. I
started a web site five years ago, in the beginning of time,
and you can see it at BatteryWeb.com. My two girls are
grown out and on their own so today like too many was
quite lonely. I worked on entering data into my website
for most of the day. Then I said to myself, self you better
get to work on that huge project called working on my life
and the future. So I started doing research and found this
forum.

Hi Wendy,
This is my first time writing on any forum, but I have been reading
many of your comments and they have been helpful. I appreciate the
comment about taking responsilbility for ourselves. That is very
hard work but what a wonderful reward. Talking things out with a
good listener helps esp. when the listener really does listen. They
don't even really need to say anything, just listen.

My world went upside down when my JW wife of many years asked me to move out. I am still a JW but after questioning the events of
the last year, including a legal divorce but not a scriptual one,
I have too many unanswered/incorrect answers to basic questions.
There is almost no one to really "talk" to as even those who are
walking a fine line are too afraid to admit their doubts.

I saw your comment on V. Day and was thinking of how many missed
opportunities just to relax, laugh, enjoy life and dear
sweet friends of the same ilk. not no mo'.

I had one good friend tell me "life can only be understood backward,
bbut can only be lived forward. FORWARD IT IS.
