while it is not impossible to have a happy marriage in the jw religion for many it is hard, for some it is very hard to maintain happiness in their marriage.
the watchtower raises the bar so very high in every aspect of life, marriage included.
the watchtower literature encourages a jw married couple to be practically perfect, or at least that is the goal set before them.

in the april 1, 2002 issue of the watchtower, an article appears entitled "keep on serving jehovah with a steadfast heart".
paragraph 14 of this article states: "if jehovah's organization knowingly endorsed false teachings, advice to read the bible would never be given to jehovah's witnesses and those to whom they preach.".
i am withholding comment on this statement, because i'd like to hear from any who would like to post a response.

i've noticed in my congregation that attendance does not have the priority that it once did.
it seems like on any given theocratic ministry school meeting there will be at least one or two subsitutions.
some of the younger elders and ministerial servants tend to miss quite a few meetings and others have the habit of arriving 30 minutes after the meeting has started.

I haven't been to a meeting in over a year and missed the
last two memorials and basically they leave me alone.
just grew a beard and still no interest. we will see what
happens this summer when i remarry and if they consider
me "free".
i consider my self very free at least until i get hitched.

Hi again. Matt 24:14 talks about preaching through out
the entire inhabited world, not specifily "door to door.
To the best of my knowledge no where in the bible does
it talk about "door to door". In fact there is a scripture
that admonishes one NOT to go "house to house". The
fav scripture about the "door to door" type (antitypica hehe)
comes where Paul is explaining the type of work that he
did, not instructing them as to what they should do. The
correct translation there is "in your houses (of worship)
absolutely NOT from "house to house".
