Kwimn and I know I have that wrong. It took me a while to figure out it wasn't Know What I Mean. Your last post broke my heart and I think of you and your wife often.

remember the kingdom hall bathroom spankings for us kids that did not sit quietly for the meeting?

the threats, the manipulation, the head games, the forced meeting attendance, forced field service activity, forced family wt publication study, the forbidden association with non-jw?s, the berating and chastising for having a thought or idea of your own, the dresser drawer searches looking for music or magazines you were not suppose to have .

you know, the typical jw upbringing .

I was hit as a child as well. I can remember wearing a light color dress for my first talk. Thinking maybe I was around 7-8-9...I gave my talk and then later was sitting in the back of the hall and was yanked out by my dad in front of everyone. Maybe talking?? Giggling?? Anyway he spanked me out front and I wet my pants because I was so scared. So I had to come back into the hall after getting beat with a huge wet spot on my dress and wet socks sobbing.

Aint that a fond memory you would want your child to have?

A confrontation

last night was one of the toughest nights to date in my adult life.. my parents and grandmother had been repeatedly asking mrs. kwin about arrangements to get to the assembly this comming weekend.

she isn't going and my family were unaware of her change in beliefs regarding the wts.

so, instead of putting things off, not giving an answer, avoiding the situation, we stood up.. i'm not sure how long we were there for, an hour, maybe two but it seemed like forever.

You break my heart and I am so sorry. You and your wife are so strong and brave. Having your family treat you this way has to be the most diffucult thing..I know it was for me. I am not as brave as you and I admire you both for it.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. Be strong and lean on each other (and us!)

Elders: When talking about confidential matters... Don't:

My father took great pains to keep all matters private. I can remember him closing his study door and we were under no circumstances allowed in. Maybe if the house were on fire.

Also, if he left the house in a suit at night (not a meeting night) and we asked where is dad going...we were told it was not our business and to not ask questions.

Never once did he ever betray this confidence. However the other 4 in the congo...you may as well get up and give the 3rd talk on what you did/may have done/thinking about doing/thought about doing.

Mom and dad both had the quick response if we asked why someone was disfellowshipped..."they were unrepentant". No drama no unkindness but in the end the other brothers hated him for never taking the hard line approach. They ending up leave that congo for another due to the lack of love for the younger people. Almost closed the entire congo and cleared out body of elders a few years later and brought in others.

I saw a sister from that old hall last weekend. She is quite old now and I sat and spoke with her for a bit. She was pure poison. Was then and is the same now. It took all I had to not tell her off when she started spouting about "the world".

Hateful people are boutiful however there are some that have good hearts and truly are misguided believers.

i am trying to log on at work and when i try to retrive the password it gives me an error message flagged to the administrator...???

why can't i get the info emailed to me?.

also is there a way that we can change the password to something easier to remember?

From past experience my suggestion would be that your silence will speak volumns. She is trying to get a reaction from you. Don't give it to her. In the end the best way to deal with it is to live life happy and fully enjoy the beautiful woman in your life. People like her HATE it when you ignore them and move along as if they don't exsist.

Contrast of a Catholic funeral for 21 year old drug overdose

i had to go to a neighborhood kid's funeral today.

a 21 year old drug overdose, dropped off at the hospital by 3 scared punks that split.

an unidentified "john doe", clinically dead.

When my grandmother died 8 years ago I went to the brother who was going to give the discourse. I asked jim to talk about what a great woman she was and how she impacted our lives. She was my rock and was the one person who NEVER EVER judged me. She was kind and good. She is the one who taught me how to be a good wife/mother and above all else a good person.

He didn't say one damn thing in regards to that. Just the basic yack about the resurrection. I was SO PISSED OFF. I figured he just ignored me but now reading here I realize that he couldn't do that from the platform. How stupid is that?

I am still pissed.

Interesting conversation with a well known Elder in Brooklyn

on my way home last night from work i ran into a prominent elder from brooklyn.

this guy is always featured at circuit assemblies and his family was presented as the model witiness family in the 80's.

well imagine my shock and surprise when i realized that this dub had just bought a lottery ticket.

I need help - Do I go to the ceremony or not?

i really need some good advice.. i have been dissasociated for 7 years--an ex:elder.

i have three children, none of them have spoken to me since i left other than my son saying that they would "welcome me back with open arms if i return, but until then they would have nothing to do with me".

this at the hospital bed where my mother (their grandmother) died less than a month later.. my middle daughter got married 2 years ago and for some strange reason i did not get an invitation.

When I married at the Hall, my best friend was DF'd. She came to the Hall and watched and made sure I saw her. We both started sobbing and it made my day to see her.

Now we are both faded and happily divorced!...love each other dearly and would never let anyone seperate us again.

Go...it may just be the one thing that touches that ice wall the WTS tries to build around our families hearts.
