  My mother is a born&raised Shreeport girl. I have known all of my life that the leeves needed to be replaced. 30 million dollars has been taken from that project over the last 5 years to go to the war in Iraq. It simply was not funded.

  Help is on it's way but no one wanted to believe this was going to happen. Well, it's here and it did and we have to get help to those who need it. Finger pointing will come much later when the political parties are shown for what they are. Blow hards that ran one of the most corrupt cities in the nation. If any of you are familar with New Orleans you know that the entire area around the French Quarter is ghetto. The average income is just above 17k a year and most live below the poverty level. Most people don't own cars.

  Been there-heard that for my 37 years and my mother for her 73 and so on. There shouldn't be any finger pointing at other nations for not helping. We are one of the richest nations in the world and this is a disgrace.

  That being said...it's too bad that the looters are the only thing being shown. It brings out our best and our worst. Looters should be shot. I shake my head in disgrace and sadness at the inhumanity.

  ANOTHER MURDERED PREGNANT WOMAN......

  there's been yet another arrest of a man who's being charged with murdering his pregnant girlfriend in pennsylvania.........is it just me, or does there seem to be a sharp increase in the number of guys who are murdering their pregnant wives/girlfriends these days?

  i often think of scott peterson.....if the idiot didn't want kids that badly, why didn't he get a vesectomy?

  tnangel, I am in the same boat as you. 8 months along and what has been really bothering me is the message boards I read where pregnant women post to one another. Now I am all for sharing advice and posting but these women post their personal information. Towns, States, Names and hospitals and doctors. It blows me away in this day and age that they would share all that information which they could easily be tracked down.

  I am more aware I suppose these days with my growing girth to be more careful then normal. From my previous occupation I learned to always know your surroundings and who is within your vicinity but I feel so much more vulnerable now. Maybe because we just can't move with the same speed and agility? Even with 2 cycle classes a week and pilates twice a week and golf I am just not able to move the same.

  Does anyone know what happened to her 7yr old? They say the child hasn't been seen since July either. Any ideas or was the child found with her???

  when you were still in the org, did you ever wonder what the apostates were saying?

  the society would just say lies and half truths.i always assumed it was about the trinity, and other religious stuff.

  i thought they were exjws who had become born agains !.

  As a little girl I can remember them outside Busch stadium screaming and carrying on like crazies. They scared me more out of how they acted and then on top of it to hear inside to not talk to them left a lasting impression that they would hurt me physically or carry me off. But that was a small childs impression.

  I agree with you Terry that had they acted in a better manner they would have attracted more people but I suppose the anger and hatred spilled over. I didn't understand that until many years later. Now I just feel sad for how wronged they must have been feeling.

  IVF is not done for the procurment of embryo's to be destroyed. Show me where they are developing embryos for mere scientific research. They are talking about using cells that will not divide into a blastocyst. They are talking about using embies that will not make it. NEVER EVER HAVE I SEEN ANYTHING ABOUT USING IVF FOR THE PURPOSE OF CELL DIVISION ONLY. Parents must donate or the clinic must donate with parental consent.

  And technically they do not all have 46 chromosones. That is why many do not thrive and basically why women who try so hard cannot achieve a pregnancy. Survival depends on the embryo developing and using the genetic material to become a fetus. Once an embryo reaches blast stage on day 5 it turns into one cell again and then you have viable material. I have great pictures of it if you care to educate yourself before you begin an argument.

  DUH .. I did it in hopes of the embryo's thriving and implanting. It simply does not happen with every single egg even if you use ICSI. But then again according to you women who chose to work don't deserve to be able to have children if they can't do it naturally. Talk about judgemental and insensitive.

  I would have gladly given those cells which I knew beyond a doubt would not develop to a lab to test for cures for cancer or whatever they needed them for.

  Your argument is not viable, much like a 2 cell embryo that has fragmentation and is dark. I have pictures of those as well if need be so you can clearly understand that you simply have no idea of which you speak. But you have proven yourself to be an ass over and over. Wonder how many chromosomes a donkey has?

  Well then perhaps you should go back and read your post about chosing a career before child bearing and that is why IVF is used. You were not speaking in "general" terms at all. You were offensive and rude and judgmental.

  And one more thing and then I digress because this is futile ... every single embryo was cherished and loved with the highest of hopes for a child. You simply have zero idea of what you speak and cannot until you walk in those shoes.

  HUGE CAN OF WORMS! ClassLESS is what you should change your name to.

  FIRST I did not "delay" my reproductive years by seeking a career. NOT that should matter in the first place. I have a son who is almost 10 and I was darn lucky to have him in my 20's. This second child is a miracle thanks to a failed IVF and a IUI replacement at the last minute. We were waiting for a donor egg and got lucky.

  My reproductive years have been sorely challenged because my JW mother pioneer and Elder father refused to put me on birth control to help with endomitriosis as a teenager. By the time I was able to have children my insides had been scarred and almost rendered incabable. BUT NO ONE JUDGED THEIR DAUGHTER and by God she didn't take anything that would seem as if she were having sex.

  How dare you judge ANYONE for delaying child bearing until they are financial responsible or chose to have a career and then stay home with a child. How dare you judge a process of which you know NOTHING about obviously. Are you an embryologist? Are you an RE? Are you an infertility nurse or have you gone thru it? Then SHUT UP until you know the facts. How nice for you to sit on the throne of decision of child bearing and dictate what is right and wrong. Check your facts idiot...most women who are going thru infertility have tried for YEARS to have a child and IVF is a very last resort.

  Once again someone goes on and on and on and on about a subject which they have very little knowledge.

  I am almost to the point of cursing and that is rare for me. I hate judgment and I hate stupidity and when they go hand in hand as is the case here it's almost to the point that I just shouldn't respond.

  And once again you simply are not understanding the science. It's is a very finite and indepth process to grow an embryo. You can tell by color and by fragmentation and number of cells over a period of 3-5 days if an embryo will develop. After only 3 years of trying I could tell by the pictures they gave me on day 3 if the cycle would be viable.

  If they do a 5-day transfer of blastocyst cells then there is a better chance of a viable pregnancy or baby.

  If you haven't been thru it or are not an RE or a embryologist you simply have no idea what the science is. Hard to base an opinion without full knowledge.

  Well as a woman who has undergone 5 IVF treatments that were unsucessful, there were embryo's that we had that would NOT develop into a viable baby. However those cells could have been used for research. The clinic that we used would not donate with or without our consent. I would have been happy to donate those cells for research purposes.

  I find that many people who pontificate on this subject have ZERO idea what they are talking about when it comes to embryos and what constitutes viability as far as a pregnancy and live birth is concerned. Some of my embryo's developed into 2 or 5 cells with a high grade BUT would not develop beyond that if they were implanted. I have implanted 7 cells embies that did not take. These are CELLS-only- NOT babies as the media would have people think.

  Dune: I am not sure what you mean by we have abortion and IVF but they are mutually exclusive. No one has the right to judge when you have not stood in infertility shoes. Science is a double edge sword. I have found ALL of my doctors to be moral and ethical.

  I have never used tax dollars to fund what I have done with my vagina and uterus so I figure it's really no one's concern but mine and hubbies.

  When I flew for a major airline, men and women would stop me as I passed by to ask what I was wearing fragrance wise. I should have been paid because I sold so much of it. Try Calyx from Prescriptives. Sold at major upscale dept stores.

  Calyx smells like soapy, citrus light and clean. It is the only thing I have worn for years and was not offensive to passengers or crew. Just a nice fresh clean smell and the men would ask me to write it down so they could buy it for their wives. The lotion by itself is so nice to wear.

  People are so heavy handed sometimes with their perfume makes you wanna gag. Also so many children and adults have severe allergies it's best to not have your scent go beyond your own range. I HATE when someone hugs me and I can smell them for the rest of the day.

  Why are pigs "unclean" and what does "unclean" mean?

  there are several religions that teach that pork is an "unclean" meat and therefore should be avoided.. what, exactly, does "unclean" mean?

  when i think of "unclean" i think of something contaminated by dirt or dangerous bacteria.

  is there some other "spiritual" substance in pigs that cannot be detected?.

  The reasoning not only due to the former trichinosis part is because pigs do not sweat. They have to lay in mud to bring their body temputures down. Hence...they lay in their own excrement along with the mud. Filthy as a pig...it's a pig sty in here...the only saying that does not work is I'm sweating like a pig. Now...sweating like a horse makes sense.

  An animal that is in it's own excrement is considered unclean to the muslim faith.

  From a farm girl who also hung out with a muslim girl at times. :)
