  On the Nature of Our Savior & Idolatry

  ot - isaiah 43:11 ~ i, even i, am the lord [jehovah]; and beside me there is no saviour.. nt - 2 peter 3:18 ~ but grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our lord and saviour jesus christ.

  to him be glory ... for ever.

  nt - 1 john 4:14 ~ and we have seen and do testify that the father sent the son to be the saviour of the world.. ot - isaiah 45:21 ~ there is no god else beside me; a just god and a saviour; there is none beside me.. nt - 1 timothy 2:3 -5 ~ for this is good and acceptable in the sight of god our saviour ... the man christ jesus.. nt - 2 timothy 1:10 ~ but is now made manifest by the appearing of our saviour jesus christ.

  you said: "If we see God in ourselves, we will also see God in others" the problem with celebrating the "God in ourselves" etc. is that everyone has a different idea about what constitutes "god"...some people idolize their children, some people idolize movie stars, the pope, their church, angels, their friend...that is where having and knowing that there IS an "outside" God who is seperate from but a part of us helps each of us have a correct perspective as to WHO we should worship...revelation 19:10 speaks to me about being too inclined to focus on the "god/inner christ" of "your brother".

  i read a upcomming book called my dead dad was in zz top by jon glaser.

  in it was a song list by prince which he performed his song adjusted for the bat mitzvah of rachel speilberg daughter of director steven speilberg.

  prince and speilberg signed non-disclosure agreements and the guests signed waivers of secrecy.

  Jesus' Physical Resurrection = Take the Ransom Back?

  in my "study," we have encountered the matter of whether or not jesus' physical body rose from the dead.

  i brought up a couple of scriptures that seem to indicate physical (john 2:18-22 and john 10:17,18).

  the jw's i am "studying" with explained how, although those verses may appear to indicate physical, jesus couldn't have meant that because if he physically rose from the dead, he would have taken back the ransom.. now that i know the wt reasoning on this, can someone point me to another source, link, book, article, etc.

  "the life is in the blood" and Jesus shed His blood for us. His blood covers over our sins so that we can stand before the Holy God (acts 20:28)(col 1:19-20-22)

  not sure i've ever read any experiences from former missionaries here (but i'm sure there has been) .

  but it would be very interesting to know how you feel about it today.

  he was mentioned on the recollection of influential posters thread:.

  one that no one's mentioned that was one of my faves is hillary_step.

  loved his razor wit.. me too - his "razor wit" managed to call me an "uneducated redneck" on at least two dozen occasions...usually when i disagreed with his certainty that george w. bush was a war criminal and should have been tried by the international criminal court.i enjoyed the interaction - hearing the name again made me ask -whatever happened to him?
