*sigh* i have been noticing lately there are a number of groups of "christians" signing up as members of this forum, with the obvious agenda of gaining converts for their own cult-like religions.

since we have a lot of canadian friends on this board, i have to ask - who are your favorite canadian bands?.

mine is rush.

they have been one of my favorite bands ever since i can remember.. they totally rule........the music and lyrics are all top notch.. the other one is the tea party - jeff martin is a genius.

why don't you go back and read what you wrote to me and look at your attitude in the thread we were on yesterday and decide for yourself if the love of your God and for your God is flowing out of your mouth...

What say you Christians ???

it seems to me that most, if not all christians are really hung up on sin and redemption from sin and how naturally evil we all are.. my question, and observation is this : i had nothing to do with whatever you say adam and eve did wrong, i have always, throughout my life, treated whoever i came into contact with compassion, respect and love.. i have lived by the golden rule.. not many people, hand on heart, can say that, i can.. so, is your god going to judge me for the "sin" of some mythical forebears of mine ?

is he going to say that , because i did not believe in him, i willl be judged adversely, even though i lived by the precepts he is supposed to support ?.

all i can say is, if your god is like that, i refuse to worship or acknowledge him.. and i certainly do not want to get to know him.

For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. john 3:17-18

this judgement of condemnation to death is the result of the original sin...because we all die we all face the result of original sin.

All I can say is, if your God is like that, I REFUSE to worship or acknowledge Him.

And I certainly do not want to get to know him. even if you call Him Jesus.

He does not come up to my standards."...

God has already judged your sin, my sin...everyone's sin. He did that in the garden...and that is why we die.

It was Jesus who was sent from the Father who gives us life again...His shed blood covers our sin...but only if you believe in Him...

"Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned— (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. i know this has been discussed before, but i want to reopen the topic.

i am currently reading ray franz's memoir crisis of conscience and ran across this footnote with respect to the new world translation of the holy scriptures:.

"the new world translation bears no translator's name and is presented as the anonymous work of the "new world translation committee.

then the rationale behind the differences between the catholic bible and the KJV protestent bible aren't about enforcing a destructive mindset or specific doctrine or dogma but the rationale behind the words used in the "translation" of the NWT can NOW clearly be seen as an effort to enforce a destructive mindset(effect)...given that the words they have chosen to use in their translation cause a disconnect between biblical "themes".

my point is in order to copyright the bible you have to "make it original"...with the NWT being copyrighted the WTBTS has a monopoly on the entire JW meme...they have endevoured to chain the Word of God to themselves and in doing so every word that they have used to "translate" the bible has wedged itself into the JW speech and thought process...thereby chaining generations of minds to themselves as well..."only the FDS has 'the truth'".

the people who "translated" the NWT also wanted to copyright it...in order to copyright something you have to make it original...

Copyright is a set of exclusive rights granted to the author or creator of an original work, including the right to copy, distribute and adapt the work.

I'm not really accepting your vague reason for this thread.

you asked others to give more examples of "How evangelicals and Witnesses are alike"...which doesn't jive with your statement, "I have had to challenge my own. During that deep analysis I had to admit where we were the same."...

you said NOTHING to indicate that this thread was intended as some sort of "challenge your own analysis" session...

"I'd rather he approach me as a fellow human being, and not dismiss me simply because of the slot he's put me in."...he might feel the same way at this point.
