given the roll call scene of the gathering of the elect and the time frame of the scene, that the 144,000 are sealed with the implication that they are priests...evangelist even, to people of all nations to bring them into reconciliation with God and out of the GT I believe this is more like a military array. Very structured...reminiscent of numbers 10:1-9...but it certainly does REQUIRE that the 144,000 are obedient to the covenant of exodus 19:5-6.

Look, your house is left to you desolate. For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’"

the fulfillment of that prophesy isn't in all the people SENT in the name of the LORD...it finds fulfillment when all of jerusalem exclaims, "blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD".

p.s. being aware of and disseminating information about current events isn't fear mongering anymore than disregarding the same is being completely oblivious.

Just an observation: people who relinquish critical thinking skills will allow for 'derogitory labels' hurled at opposition to become their measurement of truth. The "label" will be enough "fact" to make a firm decision.

ISIS doesn't have to trek from iraq to pakistan to be a threat to nuclear stability. A minority of pakistani muslims are shia and in all likelihood there are some who desire to advance the cause of the radical sunni islamists, ISIS. The security of pakistani nuclear facilities is no doubt an issue on the table in certain circles.

This is the first time that the leaders of a country with nuclear arms capability has as it's core religio/political ideology (shia islam) that killing everyone and themselves (martyrdom) is a good thing! .allah will sort out the dead and the mahdi will sort out the rest.

The "restraint" shown is not unusual in light of the fact that historically the "other" players in the nuclear drama never did adhere to a death cult agenda.

This study has done two things for ME: corrected an error in my understanding and confirmed a deeply held conviction.

I have NEVER held belief in the "rapture theory" in the sense expoused the mainstream church. I just couldn't reconcile the God I know with the teaching that at some point all believers will be whisked out of the way...chaos ensues and the "left behind" are on their own. It just didn't jive and to be frank...I'm sorry but, I DID think that people who held those views were unloving...in the same "camp" as those who where so vividly described by a fellow poster as thinking that those who didn't believe at the coming of the Lord were "on a greased pole to hell"...this study has shown me that indeed, there are people taken out of the GT because of their "conversion" ...praise God!

This study has shown me that the God I know DOESN'T leave the world to unbelief and wrath. The elect jews are those who are protected and COMMISSIONED during this great tribulation to bring both jew and gentile from all nations, tribes, languages and tongues to reconciliation with God..the GC...brought OUT OF the GT. AMEN.

If this study of scripture relevant to: the souls under the alter, the great crowd and the elect jews during the GT has drawn false conclusions I welcome correction.

"Rev. 6:9-11 these are souls under the alter who were slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held.

The GC have washed their robes but there is no indication that they were slain for their testimony...the language and scene is more evocative of a last minute "revival". (Yay!!)"

Further evidence to the claim that the souls under the alter are not the same "group" as those in the GC is found in 1 corinthians 16:51-54. The souls under the alter are numbered as those who DIED for the word of God (pre-tribulation)

At the last trumpet there will be a group who will be "translated" without dying.(taken out of the great tribulation)...THEN the angels will gather together the elect [jews] from the four corners of the earth (matthew 24:29-31, rev. 7:1,3...)

Crazyguy, the group "described" in rev 5:8 are the 4 living creatures, and the 24 elders. The words of 5:9-10 are the prayers of the saints...and THEY sang...These saints have been "redeemed OUT OF every tribe and tongue and people and nation"...(all jews) rev. 14:1,3,4 (redeemed from AMONG men) they are essentially selected from all parts of the earth rev 7:1,3-4...8

the GC are a multitude OF all nations, tribes, peoples and tongues.

The 144,000 can be separate from the GC because other scriptures indicate that they follow the Lamb where ever He goes and at the time of the GT the Lamb is standing in israel an actual place on earth. zech. 14:1-5, rev. 14:1, luke 21:20-22)...the GC are taken out of the GT which happens on earth.
