from the very beginning moses was positioned to speak to the people WITH the authority of God...not AS the authority of God.

It is my understanding that all the israelite kings and priests were positioned to speak/act WITH the authority of God not AS the authority of God. (it is also my understanding that the only ones who were given the position to speak AS the authority of God were the judges in that they held the life or death of a man in their hands)

At the time of Jesus the pharisees were speaking WITH the authority of God and AS the authority of God...Jesus berated them publicly in His capacity as king, priest and judge.

Hebrews 11:24-29 is speaking exclusively about the faith of moses there is NO critique of the law or morality of the hebrews.

The hebrews/israel AND the entirety of the law were set forth (we are told) as an example of the depravity of the nature of fallen man in CONTRAST to the Holy God.

The gospel of john was a personal account of Jesus...the revelation to john is was he was told to write as he was seeing it in a vision. The revelation is a book that portrays the final battle between good and evil. The harshness expressed in it is to be expected for such an epic battle.

We are faced with the vision of two "camps": God's and satans. Until satan and his angels are cast to earth they are still heavenly principalities.(Ephesians 6:12) Once they are cast to the earth there is even more woe to the earth and to the sea. What is described as vindictive is Jesus ridding the earth of those who are in opposition to His righteous reign. Jesus literally supports PEOPLE (rev 6:10) who have been slaughtered by those who are in opposition to His righteous reign. The tribulation is satanic/demonic it is initiated against "good". The wrath of God is initiated against "evil".

As far as the dating of the book of revelation, in the following link mark hitchcock presents external evidence for an AD 95 date based on EARLY written testimony refering to the time and event of the revelation when john was on the island of patmos. that testimony refers to john being on the island during the reign of emperor domician. @ 24-26 minute mark.

I heard you the first time. Jesus was the exact image of His Father. What we saw and heard from Jesus was representitive of the Father.

Jesus didn't advocate for the things that you mentioned. ("slavery and infanticide and forced marriage/rape") You simply have no evidence to support your claim.

moses represented the IMPERFECT people..God called them "your" people. (as mediator) moses was also an IMPERFECT representative of God to his people.

The OT laws were ceremonial, sacrificial and civil...the civil law was, I believe, tasked to moses. the reason I believe that is because moses took the initiative to change the divorce laws, something he wouldn't have done if these civil laws were from the mouth of God.

Jesus was the PERFECT representitive of His Father to the people and a PERFECT representitive of man to God. Do you see the difference there?

So, you're making your argument based on the silence of the written texts when evidence concludes that the gospel and teaching of Jesus was first of all oral?

The fact is, early followers of Jesus were known as good people who bucked at the prevailing attitudes and values of the establishment, both roman and jewish. "primus inter pares" being the norm.

OT typeology: "Leviticus 25:13 “In the year of this jubilee ye shall return every man unto his possession.” (17) “Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am the LORD your God.”

The object of the year of Jubilee was liberty and to break all oppression. The Jubilee was a type or forerunner of what it would be under the reign of King Messiah. The Jubilee was to set the stage for the coming of King Messiah as His reign would be one continual Jubilee. All oppression would end under His rule. Justice and truth would reign."

you want me to examine the evidence? The only countries that have fully abolished slavery are functioning democracies modelled on christian principles of equality for all men as imbued by the creator. These same christian principles have shaped the citizenry of these democracies to BE fair, just and compassionate. These are not innate characteristics of every contemporary society...look at the evidence yourself.

you're misinformed if you think that you can take your acquired 21st century values and compare them tit for tat to ancient eastern Semitic tribes and get any kind of important data that makes you "better" than them.

I believe, based on the scriptures, that a certain fate awaits people who don't find their salvation in Jesus. Warning people about that fate is not threatening them nor is it a vile pursuit.

come on...you know I've quoted non-canonical scripture to you personally so I'm NOT going to argue for protestant bible only and above the catholic bible.

the is enough "light" in the NT to know that Jesus is presented as the only Saviour of men. ante nicene bishops have written extensively on Christ. One of them, polycarp(?) was a disciple of the apostle John. There are just too many early accounts of the ministry of Jesus (that agree)from all points proceeding from Jerusalem to discount the historicity and accuracy of the accounts relayed by the first followers as all loosy-goosy. Many people see the hand of God guiding and nurturing the infant church.

I can understand why YOU don't see it, though. The apostle paul was also blind to the workings of the Spirit of God while he was labouring under his own assumptions.
