What say you Christians ???
by wobble init seems to me that most, if not all christians are really hung up on sin and redemption from sin and how naturally evil we all are.. my question, and observation is this : i had nothing to do with whatever you say adam and eve did wrong, i have always, throughout my life, treated whoever i came into contact with compassion, respect and love.. i have lived by the golden rule.. not many people, hand on heart, can say that, i can.. so, is your god going to judge me for the "sin" of some mythical forebears of mine ?
is he going to say that , because i did not believe in him, i willl be judged adversely, even though i lived by the precepts he is supposed to support ?.
all i can say is, if your god is like that, i refuse to worship or acknowledge him.. and i certainly do not want to get to know him.

The Christian Onslaught
by satinka in*sigh* i have been noticing lately there are a number of groups of "christians" signing up as members of this forum, with the obvious agenda of gaining converts for their own cult-like religions.
i have been wondering things like:.
hmmm...maybe i'll try ignoring them.. thank you simon for the space to vent.. satinka.

dear Janet...
Jesus gave all His disciples permission to preach...it is called the great commission.
It looks like you have made it your concern to rag godrulz' ass all over this forum(and by extention all evangelicals)...why is that? the scripture says: "And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love." ephesians 4:11-16
where precisely are you in the ministry?...If godrulz has been given a gift, lets say the "job" of evangelization...who are you to tell him he's not excercising his gift properly?...you didn't bestow the gift. And if we are given these gifts they are used to built up the church...not ourselves. why do you keep attacking godrulz personally when he is just delivering a message?...
I wonder if you are content to allow others to be blown about by every wind of doctine because you yourself are not grounded in your faith?...that seems to be the case if one was to call them self a skeptical christian....don't you think?...or is it that you just think that truth can't be known?...I wonder why one might think that unless they have blown about with every wind of doctrine. Jesus was the truth and He also showed by His actions that one can learn the truth from the scripture as He Himself did...paul is an excellent example of someone who was well versed in the OT and he was able to teach the congregation the reason we should put our faith in Jesus Christ because of what it said in the OT...he didn't just pull stuff out of thin air...his faith was grounded. He also told timothy, who was also well grounded in the scripture, not to forget what he had told him...1 corinthians 14:32...discipleship is not nursing pet ideas(regardless of how "spiritual" they may appear), discipleship is more than running around and putting bandaids on booboo's...luke 6:40

dear PSacramento... you said: "Luckly salvation has ZERO to do with what people and believers think and everything to do with God."... can you see where this statement conflicts with the fact that we have free will? Jesus was sent by God the Father that we might excercise our free will and choose to believe in Him. (and to relieve any ambiguity we are also informed, "For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus" which implicates His bodily sacrificial atonement the basis for our salvation)... making our choice for salvation, in most respects, everything to do with what we think...God already set the criteria for our salvation in His Son. in that regard, indeed, our salvation has everything to do with God. love michelle

dear 20571pnt428571... you said: " Adam had opportunity to have been our Eternal Father, but he sinned.", "Jesus is not father to the heavenly children of God, he is one of them, the foremost brother" how could Adam ever be our eternal Father...he was created? unlike the Son of God, Jesus Christ...who IS from everlasting. love michelle

dear Curtains...
you said: "perahps a verses like the above can be contemplated as a remote ideal rather than applicable in real life."
...2 peter1:1-11...
Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ,
To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.Fruitful Growth in the Faith
But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, youwill be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.love michelle
p.s. also if you would read my above post 2035 perhaps you can see where individuals who belong to Jesus would be "set against" those who are not.
