  McKinney Texas pool party?

  so today i was asked my thoughts on the pool party incident in mcminney, texas.

  my response: it shows a clash of expectations.

  The more people become accustomed to officers getting more aggressive the easier it will be to let things get more out of control. Someone sent me a video earlier today of a suspected criminal being told by a detective, "If you want to go in front of a jury like a cold blooded criminal, we can do that. The guy was obviously enraged by the officer pretty much telling him, that he had no chance of winning a case the guy bangs the table, jumps up into the officers face. Even puts his hand in the officers face.

  He is handcuffed to the wall by one hand and the other is free. The guy is definitely out of line and needs to be restrained. The officer punches the guy in the face. I can understand this. I am not upset by these actions. However after the guy has obviously given up the detective proceeds to beat him for an extended period of time.

  2 others come in the cell and then they hold the guy as he is screaming to see the guys boss. The detective is literally poking his eyes out.

  Where was the taser? Where was the mace? The comments on this video were amazing. Mostly from people saying, "he is crying like a bitch. I would have fucking killed him LOL. I bet the N*gger won't do that again."

  No one really saw a reason to ask why is the officer going so far over board. Then as I viewed the page there were hundreds of incidents like this. One where a woman thrown head first into a cell and she cracks her skull. It really is out of control.

  The officer said he over-reacted. The officers lawyer said the officer let his emotions get the best of him. His boss said his actions were indefensible. The teenager who filmed the event who was white said he over-reacted and that he targeted the black kids.

  the police were called initially because a 40 year old white woman was fighting a 15 year old black girl nothing happened to her.

  the one 18 year old arrested was released because he didn't interfere. 11 officers did their job. This one did not. It doesn't matter what his calls were before he arrived... This is part of his job.

  also he pulls the gun on two kids behind him yet all the while some fat I identified guy was behind him... On his side... In front of him... Etc yet never asks him to move or pulls a gun

  Lol. When things happen all the time to certain groups of people in a country it is sensible for people to compare past experiences with current ones... My experience across this country and from family and from friends is that police often lack respect and take liberties they should not.

  happens frequently with minorities. The department of justice is aware of it. Recorded history is a testament to it.

  people March because they experience it.

  the police chief said this officers actions were indefensible.

  This country has a history and a current story of those in power using it unfairly because they think the rules do not apply.

  " As a white kid I was a minority in that neighborhood. I found myself preyed upon by black kids in the neighborhood."

  Those were kids... not police officers. However if you want to do this we can. I was in Bethel and assigned to a congregation in Flatbush. Same thing happened there. I lived the first 9 years of my life in North Carolina. Family moved back to the North because of prejudice.

  I now live in an upper-class neighborhood in Florida where we are the only black family. It happens here as well. If you have read any of my previous posts. I have brothers and sister in-laws from another country who felt that Black Americans always complain about things like this. They are both upper-class families living in an upper-class neighborhood outside the capitol. After being here for a number of years they have also experienced this and remarked how they were extremely wrong.

  So regardless of it being Newark, Brooklyn upper class neighborhoods in Florida or suburbs outside of DC or lower class inter-racial cities in NC it has happened. Family members from the West-Indies who moved to this country and have lived in Chicago and suburbs outside the capitol it has happened.

  So the point here is that it doesn't matter. Discrimination is there regardless of ones station in life. There is no way to explain to your child that things are fair. There is no explaining to her friends why her dad was pulled over in front of his own home because the officer did not believe he lived in his home etc... etc...

  We just learn to deal with it. However once people start getting hurt things kind of change

  Officers are demi-gods in the united states along with former military veterans. In the eyes of the 40 - 80 year olds they are to be praised regardless of their actions. Especially in the Southern States and the Mid-West

  Ten years let me start by saying I am not being anal here or start a fight. I assume you came from a police district where the officers did their job.

  I saw literally... Not an exaggeration of instances of multiple police violating people. It happened to me on 3 occasions my dad twice my friend who were jw's as well.

  i watch my friends father a ministerial servant and 4 other men get completely violated on his own porch because the officer said he had drugs. 2 went in their home turned things over and acted completely out of order. They came outside and after all this and grabbed this man by his throat and acted as if he would punch him... Drew his hand back and laughed and walked away.

  Everyone sat there feeling so sorry he was emasculated but since most had been through similar life went back to normal and things continued.

  this was Newark New Jersey. The Italian police preyed on the black community this way. The stories could go on and on. So generally when people make the argument that if you comply all goes all I know better.

  Boc I don't eat fast food either. I can be very loud at times though. One thing I do appreciate about Americans is that GENERALLY speaking we care about our teeth lol.

  I think you are right about that. I have friends in London and when I was a JW I had JW friends there as well.

  They definitely were not as strict as they are in the U.S. There was this real desire to avoid service when I was there and when they would visit they had NOOOOOO desire to do anything that involved a kingdom hall.
