  Wife Update...

  for those that remember my wife was attacked and nearly raped back in march.

  yesterday, was the preliminary hearing for the "alleged" attacker.

  my wife had to relive that morning in front of that bastard once again.

  i have 2 weeks to return or exchange it.

  Hi Jonathan,

  I am wondering where you got the idea that the NIV was a paraphrase? From everything that I have read about the NIV, it seems to be a translation that translates in a "thought-for-thought" manner rather than a "word-for-word" as the NASB or KJV does.

  Here is a list of versions that I go to more often than others:

  1. New American Standard Version

  2. English Standard Version

  3. International Standard Version. I have sat under Dr. William Welty (the publisher), as well as Dr. Robert Morey (who translated some of the Psalms).

  4. The Complete Jewish Bible. This is a bible that was included in the PC Study Bible software I have. It reminds me that Christianity is the most successful sect of Judaism.

  just afew points....jack ruby who killed ozwald before a trial is often shown on tape talking about..."you'll never know the real truth..." etc.

  but on the net i found the whole transcript.

  jack ruby was very mentally ill. he goes on to explain that these "forces at work" are the john birch society, anti-communist anti-jew club.

  Yes, I saw that program. It was interesting, however there was nothing really "new" that it brought to the table. To me it is pretty open and shut that LHO acted alone in a perfect storm of circumstances.

  The trial is finally on! My wife began her testimony this morning and concluded this afternoon. She was great. During cross-examination the utter weakness of the defense was apparent as the defense attorney could only attempt to poke holes at minute details in my wife's testimony. My thought during the defense's cross was that the defense was bolstering the case for the defense.

  I was also able to hear the testimony of one witnesses, and the recording of the 911 phone call he made. It was chilling. I could hear my wife screaming, "Somebody help me! Somebody help me!" over again. Sadly, both of these witnesses were on parole, and made a choice not to get involved physically in the incident. I still think that they are cowards for not getting involved, but that is academic.

  The second witness was scheduled to testify after my wife. I did not stay. The LAPD detective was scheduled after him, as are the responding LAPD officers. The LAPD detective said that he expects the case to go to the jury by Friday.

  We were also made privy to certain details that could not be shared by the detective prior to the trial. He stated that the defendant had tried to claim insanity. However, he was taped in a 24 minute conversation with the detective in which he made a number of lucid statements that made it quite clear that he was in control of his faculties. This was their only defense, however when the recording was given to the defense it shot that option out from under them.

  The defendent's attorney advised him to accept a plea, however due to the eggrigiousness of the crime, the defendant is facing 40-plus years. Therefore he demanded a jury trial. Hopefully, the jury will not be swayed by this bastard and aquit him. Form watching the jury, they were very much in tune with my wife. One juror, a woman, was in tears as my wife gave her testimony.

  We want to thank you all for your support, prayers, and good thoughts. They were felt and deeply appreciated.

  I even want to thank that certain poster that thinks that made this all up. You made us stronger, you jerk!

  I will let you all know when the verdict comes in.

  I also found Bugliosi's book to bog down in details. However, it sealed the deal for me. There was no conspiracy in the assassination of John Kennedy.

  We are beginning to wonder if this ordeal will ever end! We were advised late Friday that the trial has been postponed until Tuesday. I understand that the defendant's rights must be protected, but how long will this abuse of the victim's rights continue. My wife has been on edge since being told that the trial is pending. Having to relive the attack over again has put a great deal of stress upon her. The overabundance of protection that criminals have is just wrong.

  Yes, she has to testify again. The reason that this has gone on so long is that the defendant claimed insanity. So there had to be a number of psychological tests done to determine his state of mind. However, in speaking with the D.A. 12 months from crime to trial is pretty common, expecially in crimes which have long prison time.

  OK...after over a year of dread the day is finally coming. On Monday the trial of the dirt bag that attempted to rape my wife is going on trial. Please keep us in your prayer and thoughts.
