  I don't yet know the outcome of the 23 May 1933 Impeachment Charges against ER Black, Sr and others, but I do know that he resigned from the Board of the Federal Reserve Bank on 15 August 1934, having only held that position since May 1933.

  Here's an interesting sidenote on Eugene R. Black Jr's grandfather William Woodfin Grady:

  In addition to being the editor of the Atlanta Constitution in the 1880s he was "a member of the Atlanta Ring of democratic political leaders...used his office and influence to promote a New South program of northern investment, southern industrial growth, diversified farming, and white supremacy."

  He also supported Henry D McDaniels nomination for governor...leading me to wonder if there is possibly a chance that this is the same McDaniels that Rutherford's sister Salena "Lena" married, but I imagine that's just too much to hope for, one of those pesky meaningless coincidences.

  There is a Henry Dickinson McDaniels (1836-1926) of Georgia, a lawyer, but that is all I've been able to find so far.

  I wonder if the William H Black mentioned in Leolaia's research as a brother of Eugene R Black III and son of Eugene R Black, Jr is the same as the William Heath Black that this site ( www.namebase.org/main1/Eugene-Robert-Black.html ) says is mentioned on p.518 of The House of Morgan by R. Chernow? (Named after a favorite uncle perhaps?) And is this/are these the same as the person mentioned here on the SEC site?...

  Dang! You beat me to it, Leolaia...nice work! It was a fun search. Still, I was really hoping to learn more about the identity of Bonnie Boyd and her family. Oh well.

  One source said that Mr. Black "had a patrician aloofness" and "The Bank was known as Mr. Black's Bank." There are brief histories of him at web.worldbank.org (home>about us>archives) and an obituary at the Atlanta Journal Constitution (of which his grandfather Henry W. Grady was once editor).

  It really is interesting the connections the old Judge had and cultivated one way or another!

  Makes me wonder what modern-day connections there are that we don't know about...

  Does anyone know if Bonnie Boyd was married before she came to Bethel at the age of 24? Maybe Boyd was her married name rather than her maiden name. And was her mother never mentioned by name in any of the Olin Moyle transcripts?

  I found a couple of Archie Boyds but don't know how (or if I can) investigate them further. Let me know if you want what bits I do have.

  Back to what you said before, SNG, I would have to agree that the Draw Close book was written in a kinder, gentler, and much more appealing style, meant to overcome people's emotional objections to the God who threatens to kill 'em all at Armageddon, as if to say, "See, we're not so bad; God's not so bad. Just do what we tell you and everything will (eventually, some day) be wonderful for you." I think it's quite beautifully written, but I still have a problem with their "facts" and where they try to lead people with this very lovely carrot.

  I was also wondering if you had explored the somewhat farfetched (?) possibility that Bonnie Boyd might be the daughter of August Balko Jr's sister Patty. I don't have access to enough info to work through the details that could either confirm or disconfirm. Maybe there is a connection between the Balko's of Texas and Joseph Balko of Iowa, too, since that is where Bonnie Boyd was said to have been born.
