Too true. No trust here. They lie, people die. That about covers it.

with all the questions being asked as to who can be trusted, i think it is most proper to ask the following questions.. can jehovah's witnesses be trusted?.
can the watchtower be trusted?.
trusted with what?

dear ian ---
i am starting this thread a few hours before midnight my time so that you will find it waiting for you when you wake up.
happy birthday!!!
Celebrate miracles together
Happy Birthday, IAN
Happy Anniversary, Derek.
And hats off to all those who noticed the generation change. Ashamed to say that if I had still been in, I probably wouldn't have put 2 and 2 together and realized the ramifications of it.

the place is in the wilderness, the thing acting as a restraint is the face of the serpent.. .
how does someone gain access to the actual temple of the god and further yet, how is he able to lift himself up above everyone who is called god?.
god's spirit-directed organisation ---- (the man) ----------------- a god?.
I like your opening point best, Geoff (I didn't take time yet to read all the following letter):
Few will argue that Jehovah's Witnesses have been reproached and persecuted for Jehovah's Name. The scripture at Matthew 5:11 however, explains that people will be reproached for Jesus Christs name sake. You would have to try much harder to find specific examples where Jehovah's Witnesses have been reproached for Jesus Christs name.

many of you may not see immediately how important this matter is.
beyond the other legal ramifications, i.e, the wts lying about secular info., intentional deception, etc., the blood issue is a huge one.
...I don't know what happened to my post...try again...
even Jehovah's Witnesses would refuse to obey the blood doctrine if they were losing that many members a year. Because many of those personally touched by such a tragedy recognize the error in the doctrine a loss of a thousand or more a year would have such a massive fall-out in membership that it would be immediately obvious.
You'd think so, wouldn't you? But if they really cared that much about loss in membership, wouldn't they stop DFing, or at least stop DFing repentent members, stop hunting down and DFing faders, and show a little more Christian love and respect for the members who DO stay? IMO they don't care about retaining anyone whose life (and death) they can't control 100%. (see the We Are Hemhorraging thread http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/9/91267/1.ashx)
My heartfelt sympathy to all who have suffered trauma and loss due to unloving, unchristian, unscriptural, and insane doctrines

i sent my birthday document (http://thebentinel.com/jw-birthdays.html) to a poster here that is at the very least a jw-sympathizer, if not a full-blown jw.
the response i got back indicated that my reasoning on it was seriously flawed and essentially any idiot with a passing knowledge of scripture and history can tell that birthdays are not something christians should celebrate.. of course, if you're not a bible-believer or a god-believer, you couldn't care less about pagan origins and all that.
but let's keep this conversation on the 'appropriate for christians' vein.
I s'pose somebody'll be celebrating the day I die, but I don't think it'll be me...unless I'm
struck down on my birthday while I'm celebrating
And I don't think Happy Deathday is going to catch on too big as a party song nor
a greeting card sentiment any time soon...

does anyone remember when the picture of the married couple was changed in the live forever book?.
it was the chapter on marriage, and there was this one picture of a hottie basically posing in a provocative picture on the bed, hair askew, beckoning her husband to join her.
she was going to render her due.

I have it. I posted it on an old thread a while back. I'll see if I can find it again.
