i was talking to my aunt the other day.
she knows i talk to you apostate folks and i don't think she's very comfortable with it, but that's her problem.. she did, however, ask a question that seems particularly important, not only in and of itself, but even more so when you apply it more generally.. the question was: what do you people have now that you're out?
what has leaving given you?.
That's some painful honesty there, tij...

my middle kid turns 10 this wednesday.
it will be the first b-day present i've ever bought her.... (gawd, now i'm tearing up)
what i'm needing is a little help easing into actually giving it to her as she's known for the previous 9 years, 364 days that celebrating birthdays are bad, bad bad.
I'd go with the simple, personal, "I love you, I'm so glad you were born and your my kid, and I just wanted to give you a gift to help me express that" kinda thing. Maybe ask her how she feels about birthdays, gifts, celebrations. Ask why?. Let her express herself. Express how you feel, what you think.
If she needs Bible back-up, the Bible doesn't say not to, I guess.
Here are what some Christian sites say:

here is your dose of humour for this afternoon:.
a. follow the instructions to find your new name.. .
b. once you have your new name, post it so we can all see it.
If I use my forum name I get Dorfus Dippinpants. Is that better or worse than Farcus Snicklebutt?

Book DescriptionEver since American prisoners of war in Korea suddenly switched sides to the Communist cause, the concept of brainwashing has continued to fascinate and confuse. Is it really possible to force any thinking person to act in a way completely alien to his character? What makes so-called brainwashing so different from the equally insidious effects of indoctrination and conditioning, or even advertising and education?
Research findings from psychology show that brainwashing is not a special subversive technique; it is the clever manipulation of unrealized influences that operate in all our lives.
This book, by breaking down so-called brainwashing to its individual elements, shows how social conditioning, need for approval, emotional dependency and much else that we are unaware of, prevent us from being as self-directed as we think; and, conversely, which human traits make us the least susceptible to subtle influence.

I am so sorry for your loss, leftbelow. So much love and care goes into re-making a couple's whole world in expectation of a child. I really feel for you and your wife. May you find much comfort and strength in each other......and in us, your new friends.

it was made by a women who in later years wore crotchless panties and bras which had holes in the nipple areas.
he not only knew the woman in question (she's now deceased), he has met her numerous times.
up until recently this secret of her year's long sexual affair with rutherford was kept by the family.
Thanks for all that well-arranged info, Leo. You've been hard at work!
It's been so interesting to see it all unfold and come together piece by piece. It makes for quite a picture. The more we find out, though, the more questions seem rise to the surface.
Looking forward to more of both (answers and questions)...
