  a few of us last week were discussing the hmong in chat.

  for those of you that don't know who the hmong are, they are an asian people that live(d) and farmed in the mountains of laos.

  during the vietnam war, they were recruited by the cia to fight a secret war on behalf of the us in laos.

  i had an experience with my son the other day and thought i would share it with the board.. i decided to take my son out to dinner.

  my daughter was off with friends and my husband was working.

  with it only being the two of us, i really didnt feel like making a mess in the kitchen and then have to clean it up.

  Bill Bowen's Story appears in my local paper today

  the title is: "jehovah's witnesses facing expulsion for abuse stance".

  the same story that appeared on cnn's website has been run in my local paper, the desert sun(palm springs, ca), along with his picture.

  it's on page a11, the first page, on the top, of the second section.

  mtv at 10:30pm.. i didn't catch the first few epidsodes, but i have to admit, i find the show hilarious.

  Important Things in Life: Rocks, Pebbles, Sand.

  someone sent this to me and i though i would share it with the db.. a philosophy professor stood before his class and had some items in front of him.

  when class began, wordlessly he picked up a large empty.

  mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks right to the top, rocks about 2" in diameter.

  i have been following mulans thread regarding her mothers living situation and the harassment of the elders from her congregation.

  the poor woman is in her 90s and in poor health.

  mulan had to call patterson to have something done to stop it.. .
