You can pick one up at places like Walmart. The lens cleaner looks just like a regular cd but it has a fine little brush that does the sweeping.
Aside and off-topic - Hey StillA, great piece you wrote there for that online magazine.
ok, so in my efforts to get some research done and learn more about the wts rather than relying solely on everyone else here for help, i decided to download the 2005 wt library to do my own searches and such.
after all, how else would a non-jw like myself have access to past publications and such??
and i'm dying of curiosity here, i want to do some of my own research, just to see what i can come up with.. so i download the iso file and then i don't know what to do with it.. i tried downloading an iso-burning tool, but that won't work for me.

I believe Leolaia's pinpointed the likely culprit. If you use nero you shouldn't simply burn the iso file onto the blank but use the option where you burn a disk image or saved project (which is the ISO) onto your blank.
Something to also consider is that there may have been some corruption while downloading. But I don't see any info on the reexaminer website that could be used to checksum the download.
Good suggestion there too VM. Make sure the speed setting doesn't surpass the rated speed of the cdr when burning and even go slower.

And as a corroboration of Runningman's post, here's a copy of one of those timely reminders that are sent out.....Failing to file the return on time this year means not only losing status but also having to pay a $500 penalty.

Keep thinking positive OFC. Medical procedures today can pull off some wonders. Wishing for the best.
the character of melito of sardis, who was bishop of sardis during the second century ce is discussed in the april 15th 2006, watchtower.
he, on the one hand is praised for agreeing with the date for the celebration of jesus' death as nisan 14. he is also praised for trying to protect the christians from persecution by writing to marcus aurelius for protection.
the last paragraph on page 18 says:.
Anyone who's just starting to delve into the historical investigation of early christianity would IMHO gain alot of useful background by reading Lost Christianities by Bart D. Ehrman.
why doesn't the watchtower society allow accounts servants to make copies of the accounts report and pass them out to all attendees at the kingdom hall so they can follow along as he reads the report?
that way all the dubs could more fully share in the joy that comes out of giving from the heart?.
at the church i attend we have a quarterly business meeting where every one receives a complete financial statement that has been audited by several committees in order to insure that every penny is accounted for.
You can also go to the gazette (weekly or monthly publication by the government of Canada) and see if there are any JW charities whose charitable status has been revoked. heh heh.
May those few become a mighty nation.
The Canadian branch even sent a letter to congregations about the new info that has to be included on income tax donation receipts (their website info) and the penalties Revenue Canada now has for charities that fail to comply or to file their information return. They're really on top of things when it affects their cash flow.

It took 150 years for the Watchtower society to segregate the duties?
Well when I was accounts servant, our congregation had it set up it so that every cheque written needed two signatures to be cashed (and only four peope were authorized to do that. I was one.)

Maybe most of you know this already, but each circuit typically has its own charitable status and looks after the donations at the circuit assemblies and special day assemblies. In Canada, you can look at all the information returns from 2000 to 2004 from many registered charities. Hope the following link works:
Typing in "Ontario Circuit" in the charity name field will give you alot of them. If you put in "Watch Tower" you get the Canadian Bethel. <---------- must be nice to make over $1 million just in interest.

I've done the congregation accounts and its exactly as Blondie detailed.
Having different brothers collect with you would minimize opportunities for collusion. For quite some time, the WTS encouraged that cheques have 2 signatures on them. And as of fall 2005 (in Canada at least), accounts servants are no longer to sign cheques.
