Yes. You can embarrass them to the point where they would look totally stupid for disfellowshipping you. It's a harder thing to accomplish though, but I did it.

Can a witness avoid ever being disfellowshipped or reproved?
by dgp inpeople, a simple question this time.
since the society has such a complex set of rules, how likely is the average witness to be disfellowshipped?
reproved?

Why no coverage of the Russian ban in the media?
by highdose ini mean not just in russia but world wide, wouldn't this be a great oppotunity to educate the public about this cult????.

The world's attention is focused on Copenhagen. I don't think this tops what is going on there by any means, especially to the general public.

My name was brought up last night in the elders meeting !!!
by elder-schmelder ini was just told by my dad that my name was brought up last night in the elders meeting.. my dad (is or was) an elder, and he told me that the elders are going to be giving me a call.
they have heard rumors that i am an apostate !!.
he said that the elders received a call from another hall that heard that i was an apostate and 1 local brother also turned me in.. does this mean that they have 2 witness to my sin and that they can df me without a jc?.

If it's been over 3 years since you've been to a meeting or called yourself a JW, then there is nothing they can do. It's either in the Flock book, or in a KM that says that for JW's who have distanced themselves for a period of three years or more and do not consider themselves JW's that they are to leave them alone. A couple years ago I would have sourced that for you, but I'm too far removed to know where to start looking for that now.

Hello Blondie. Hope your health is keeping up. :)
Avishai - Long time no see, huh?
Jamie - A new songbook? It's about time, the last one came out in what ... '85? I bet it's taken them that long to compile a list of songs that are consistantly horrible. It's not as easy of a task as you'd think.
Oracle - I'm just stopping in. Don't count on me sticking around, but you never know. I've got a lot going on and no time to do it in.
Mouthy who? *scratches head* Nope ... you got me. haha How can I forget you! Seems like not that long ago we met in the Orangeville courthouse. I don't have the video you sent me any longer though, I passed it on to be added to a church library. I didn't think you'd mind, but I figured it'd be more good there then in my already out hands. I hope you're keeping well.
Babygirl - I've been quite busy with school. I've got about 30 hours of class a week and homework on top of that. I'd love to play werewolf again but my head wouldn't be into it to my liking.

Denise - It's been a rough go all around when it comes to losing jobs. Here unemployment is in double digits and as tourism is the main industry, we're hit fairly hard. It's definately one of the most depressed areas in the country. Fortunately the government has some good plans in place to help out. I got laid off 1 1/2 years ago and am taking the opportunity to go back to school with the Province footing the bill.
No new shunning stories. I haven't run into JW's I've known for a long, long time ... and the ones I have are no longer in. The family is all good though. :) Thanks for asking.
Snakes ... how's school going for you?

For those new ones since my absence ... I'm kind of a big deal around here.
