What do ya do when...
by missy04 inyou're 18, (considered an adult), want to move out of your parents house to get away from your dysfunctional mom, and can't because you feel guilty leaving your mom and dad because your parents have alot of health problems?.
i absolutely cannot function in this environment.
it's just nuts.

Who starts the guilt tripping?
my mom. She overheard a conversation with a good friend of mine from the board here last night, when I was talking about possibly leaving. She started in with "if you do that you will be killing your father." and "over my dead body"

I hope your considering going to college or at least a vocational school when you move out. Life can be pretty hard without a higher education. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you.
Yah, I am eventually. I don't really know when, just that if I stay here I'll end up pulling out all my hair lol and I'll never get anything accomplished.

I absolutely cannot function in this environment. It's just nuts. But as soon as I mention possibly leaving, the guilt trips start. I want to help them but there is only so much I can do. If I left I would get a job wherever I went and send them money or whatever to help..

I'm afraid there are only 2 ways of being a true believin' Christian
by Zep inthe first way is to be completely ignorant.to ignore the fact that the bible is a hopelessly flawed man made document, and all other reasoned argument and evidence that points to the non existence of the christian god.
this strategy basically involves living inside mental cocoon and closing your eyes to any alternative views.
the best way to employ this tactic is to perform a whole lot repetitive and ritualistic action; a whole lot of head bowing and praying etc... etc....you know the drill!.

Yeah look, I dont really hate Christians. I dont trust them though! They p*ss me off a lot of the time. I'm just ambivalent towards them. They are a sort of curiousity to me, like cute furry animals are to a zoologist. I think we should study them more, put them in cages and run tests on them to see why they believe such BS!!!!!!!!!....maybe we can take them home as pets and play with a little, and give them as Christmas presents nand stuff?
So did you just start this thread to be insulting and make yourself look like a jerk?

I have noticed a very good amount of people with depression in the KHs. My close witness friend has severe depression among other problems.
Not to mention how they prey on people with depression....me for one <-------

Why does the wtbts say you have to bring a sack lunch to the assemblies?
by ko38 in.
i dont fully understand what the big deal is as to why you cant leave the conventions to go eat.i use to have fun working in the food department when i was younger.you could miss most of the days talks if you stuck around for cleanup.. i helped build the assembly hall here in st>louis.i was thrilled when they installed an ice cream area.that was the best job to have and we used to request that duty months in advance.
(all the ice cream you could eat)then when they went to the free food oh boy did i pig out.dad always put a hundred or so in the kitty and i guess that more than covered the soy bean burgers, burritos and fruit bags that we ate.. but now there is strong admonition to not leave the building for food as well as to stay away from vendors around district assemblies.the only reason for this that i can think of is that they dont want anyone leaving the assembly and not returning for the afternoon session after a tasty lunch and good conversation with your friends.. of course if a lot of people didnt return from lunch they wouldnt be there to give contributions.thats the only reason i can come up with.what do you guys and gals think?

The last special assembly and convention I went to, they informed people in the meetings at the KH at least a couple times not to leave for lunch. They said mainly because it would take away from wholesome association with brothers and sisters or some crap like that. At the convention we packed a lunch and stayed..but at the special assembly we went ahead and got Subway anyway shame shame
