i was just wondering for thos that have been raised within and then were df'ed ... did you return before giving it up for good?.

i grew up with the terror of post vnam and 1975 being the end or the end being just around the cornor, i was df'ed, thought long and hard.

and returned anyway.

Weird KH stories

what is your weirdest experience at a kh?.

one sunday, a kind older brother raised his hand to comment, all of a sudden, his foot shot out, he fell off his chair and started to shake.

everyone was hushed and shocked.

ok, bookstudy in an elderly sisters home, my unc was conducting, 4 adult women, 9 or 10 kids (age 16 down to 3ish), myself being 15 at the time and the only other male in the room had the privlage of reading. some scripture in luke i think it was where it says "sins will be blotted out" only i read "skins being blotted out", i looked up at one of my sisters and she looked at me then started pulling at the skin on her arm, well i lost it and started giggling as did she, another of my sisters, my mother, and my aunt. we got settled down after about 5mins then one of the young ones (3ish) was sitting under the kitchen table and he was sucking on his sock, while still on his foot. it was wintertime and so the sock had the black from his boots (more likely it was just plain dirt from never being washed) and as he sat there sucking on his sock one by one we all disloved back into fits of laughter all that was except for my uncle. he never did get what was so funny eh it was funny when it happened then there was the time when i slipped and the toilet seat slamed down and a MS came running back to the bathroom accusing me of playing in there i was 14 or 15 at the time and as we all know that were most young boys play.... oh wait .... neverming :O tim s

favourite games to play as a child during boring meetings

my parents were both very strict, and i wasn't allowed any toys at the hall.

my rations included a copy of my book of bible stories, and a pen and note pad.

my parents were strict to the point of not allowing me to draw pictures, i had to "take notes".

oh how i envy you all :) my mother (we'll call her pauline (cause thats her name)) was so strict if she caught us looking around... i shudder to think what she would do. no paper or any thing that would mark on anything (untill we were old enuf to take notes ("what did you learn from that part"?)) no toys that was for the weak ones kids, as i said no looking around so counting PPL, tiles, any thing was OUT untill i was old enuf to sit where i wanted, so my FAV thing to do to pass the time was ... placing one leg across my knee long enuf for the blood flow to slow and make my leg "fall asleep" and then sticking a pin or edge of the bible or what ever book into my foot to see if i could feel it. only once did this cause any real problem, i had ta pee and when i stood up i promptly fell on my ass, in the front row... full hall ... sunday morn. still cant think about it w/out laughing any other foot sleepers out there? tim s

to get a break from my jw parents when i was 17 (i'm 25 now) i took an apartment of my own.

i was working full time and going to school.

a busy schedule that allowed me to miss meetings without them constantly hounding me.

bloodhounds could learn from these ppl. the LAST i was DF'd i moved from arkansas to utah and they still tracked me down i'm not sure how the got the number cause it wasnt my number but it was ether my mother or my sister that gave it to them it was fun tho cause i got ta tell them ta piss off and never call me again i think your friend should sue the "Elders" for stalking them and file a police complaint that they were the cause of the accedent. glad your free now tho tim s

it still amazes me the level of brain washing those PPL do, your trained to eat s**t and say yummy more please.

a few years ago i was playing "Better Person" with my EX and to show her up i was going to be reinstated first

needless to say that went nowhere. but my current wife had grown up in a religous house also and wanted to see what

the jdud were all about so in one of my meetings with the elders (one i had been close personal friends with) i asked

if his wife could study with my wife. his reply was "i want her to ask" like she was to come crawling, begging for them to

study with her. she was never in and had never really studied with anyone and they were treating her just like they did me.

anyway my point is that even after years of determend "Never Again" i still almost returned. the brainwashing cults of the

and returned anyway. jumped out again very soon and so i was wondering just how common this pattern was and how hard was it for you to break

away.

once i find the right place on this board and the time i will post my story in full but i just had to ask this question first :)
